Bloody hell, sorry to hear/see that the Beast is finally up for sale.

Hmm...tempting, as you said before your Griff would be a perfect match for my orange side repeaters, but I just love my Chim too much and doubt I could handle taking on two beasts!

Best wishes on the job front

Hi Apache,

Don't sell until you really have to.

Oiy Dusty... when we said we were glad you had decided to get a Griff, we didn't mean for you to go and buy the best bl**dy one on Pistonheads

Seriously, if it really has to be sold i can't think of a better home for it and you will make a lot of people very envious... don't ask any more questions.. just buy it!

Having said that though... fingers crossed for the interview Pete.

Ditto, fingers crossed, Apache...I know how you feel. I hope things turn around soon. Best wishes for the interview xxx

Edited to add: is there *any* way you can keep the car? That is one stunning beast. My Ruby is going, so I really do know how you feel...

Yes, all the best mate. Having gone through the pain of all those engine mods myself, I can imagine how hard it would be to let her go... Hopefully it won't come to that.

p.s. How's your car going Marlon? You were doing the final touches to it when you last posted. - Pete, Gerjo, you and I all have similar engine mods, p.s. did you have your pre-cats removed?

Oh bugger it Pete - it can't be that bad... surely you 'aint got finance on your Griff and there must be something else you can sell! p.p.s. I've been out of work since May anbd it I'd sell my body before selling Grizzly! Rich...

Guys......I don't know what to say, talk about coming over all emotional, thanks, thanks a lot. Car ain't financed and we have everything protected but 11 months of indifferent income on my part has used up all our reserve (despite Mrs Apache standing ouside the chippy in all weather)

The Interview went very well and technically was a walk in the park, Manager even shared a similar career path from the RAF and Saudi (most of the interview was spent swapping war stories) so I'm feeling confident (but you never know what HR have up their sleeve)
I can't possibly let the old girl (Griff that is) go after that overwhelming support and will put it on hold for now. Thanks again for this I really needed it and will keep you all posted.

Great decision apache. Think positive and everything will turn-out right for you. Youv'e been a positive inspiration to me in my decision to keep my griff and not buy a tuscan s. In fact Peninsula collected her today to start the engine modification works. Im sure with your skills and abilities the right job will be there for the taking. Cheers dude... zz....

Hi Rich,

Car is running very well - on the whole I'm very pleased with it. It took several months to get it sorted properly, and it's difficult to remember what it was like before I started... but other people who have driven it say it's amazing...

Yes, I had the pre-cats taken out - and whether it was that or something else I'm not sure, but the car is MUCH louder than before. Tappet noise hasn't been a problem, but there is a distinct "swirly" noise from the engine - I guess something to do with the different cam?

Anyway, it goes like a train, and the throttle response is SO much better! Funny = Initialy my local garage thought there was an electrical fault "Hey Marlon, when you breathe on the throttle the car shoots away as if you'd floored it... checked it over and can't find a fault...?" Grin - "Yes, it does that now!". Serious grunt.

The only thing still to do is fit the ACT air inlet hose (Tim - I will get around to it eventually) and maybe a better air filter... considering a different air meter...

Current figures are 300BHP and 345Ib/Ft. Max power is delivered a bit lower than I expected (around 5,200 RPM), so there may be a bit more to come...

Be good to get together with you, Gerjo and Apache for a friendly drag race!

I sent my other half out to 'work' as well the other day and she came back with £50.50p....I asked "who was the 'tight git' with the 50p?".....she replied..."all of them!"...

Seriously....fingers crossed for the results for the interview, and keep hold of that Griff, looks an absolute beaut.
