Renewed my insurance last week - Blackpool, 25, parked outside, 4 points and a fairly hefty claim recently - 1282quid from A Manning (via TVRCC), which was over 200 better than the rest and includes free European and TVRCC track day cover.

I am having trouble getting cover - I am 24 with 2 yrs NCB and only a handful of places will even consider it. All the above specialists will only cover me either when I am over 25, or have had the TVR for over a year.. £1656 at Tesco.com is my best quote so far!!!

Direct Line wanted 1750, and Privilege were identical to Tescos.....

It amazes me that there is such differences - Direct Line own Privilege, and I belive they also underwrite Tesco's cover - A mate of mine who works in insurance tells me there is only 4 or 5 motor insurance underwriters in the UK, and they sell policies to the various brokers who do with them as they wish....

Picked up a new Clio last night that came with free insurance (From Privilege) and the cover note is identical to the one I had last year from Barclays...

Holy shit, I've just got off the phone from Mannings; Been quoted £839 for next years premium (starts in April), this includes me+wifey + track days (whahoo!).

Bloody excellent, since last years premium was £1260 with Privilage.

So, the figures : Me; 25, full NCB, TS10, 1 claim in last 5 years. Wifey; 25, full NCB, squeaky clean license and no prangs.

Not only was the quote so good, the attitude and helpfulness of the chap I spoke to (Neil) was excellent.

I'm chuffed as a butty, more importantly, I'll be joining some of you chaps on the track this summer!!!!

I've been with Mannings for a few years now. Just renewed at £740 incl legal cover etc. 33, max NCB, no points, protected (I think), garaged, HP15 postcode (which I don't think helps) + girlfriend as a named driver.

They are always polite and I haven't found a cheaper quote.

I'm exactly as you Trefor except older by six years – and married (don't know whether that makes a difference!) – a bit more north though (which helps) £415.00. Can't moan at that! Wifey has an SP30 too. Me? – clean as a whistle
