The world for us is on a downhill slide that just keeps picking up pace... our so called government is more than useless and has made us the laughing stock of the whole planet. The Southern Hemisphere has retained the RU World Cup, and Aston Martin will be very lucky to survive their current financial circumstances. I still have a fuel leak on my Chimaera, and I’ve just spent a small fortune on the Vantage with new tyres, discs, and pads. What’s worse, my local Waitrose has no Merguez sausages although I did get fresh figs and Manchego cheese this afternoon. I’ll be resuming the helicopter flying lessons in the Spring, however life really is crap at the moment.
Get yourself down to the pub Richard. Treat yourself to a pint of Courage Directors, Double Diamond or Hofmeister while you wait for your prawn cocktail starter in a Babycham glass, followed by chicken in the basket and topped off with black forest gateau.
You can drive there in your proper V8 Aston and you can have a game of darts as there's no Sky or iPhones.
The 70s were so much simpler. wink

My local plastic free fruit and veg shop is now charging £1.50 for avocados not much larger than chicken eggs.

I feel your pain Gazz... my locally sourced oysters get smaller every year... I grow fruit in the garden too, but I couldn’t believe how small my plums are now...

You've missed the point N7GTX, as usual. The point I was making was this: Someone was criticising "Mr Helicopter" and someone replied in effect to say that his willy was bigger than theirs, because he owned a brand new helicopter and that he had paid cash for it, whereas they just drove some old banging cheap TVR on lease. In effect that he was better than them.

It wasn't anything to do with him joining TVR or promising updates or free rides. It was about what is the relevance of a helicopter that was really bought to give to a 3rd party helicopter operator to charter out. It isn't really "Mr Helicopter's" personal transport, it was bought to use as part of a hire business. Therefore his attempts to show off and put others down were pointless.

He can offer free rides if he wants, and you are happy to ride in a single-engined small helicopter, because he can simply pay the 3rd party operator to do that on his behalf.

Whether anyone wants to a free ride to a non-existent factory is another matter. Personally I have better things to do, and I would only ever use a twin-engined copter, because there are less restrictions with them, and better safety, because if one engine fails, at least it isn't guaranteed to be curtains like a single-engined machine!

Why in the name of bejeezus he’s joined PH specifically to promote his fact that this Richard bloke (whoever he is) OWNS a helicopter is - as I have intimated - laughable. So therefore he’s better than us? Errr.... and?

He would look better if he came on here and delivered on his promise of updates rather than getting his chum to spout stuff.

If all the TVR in-crowd can do is get upset at the general mood here then maybe they should address the cause of it.

Two engines are little use if the gearbox fails or you lose the tail rotor (or control of)

I know this because it’s how I get to work. And back. For the last 40 years. So far I’ve dodged the bullet, but a good few haven’t. We used to joke that you’re taught to put your head between your legs because it increased your chances of survival, but in reality it was so you could kiss your ahole goodbye... (don’t do this in helicopter that’s going down)

You've missed everything. Again!

It is a second hand helicopter bought from the States (not brand new).
He did buy it (as claimed in the original post by Gigi) and has then leased it out to Elite on a long term lease.
He was in the process of doing his PPL (presumably he passed as the article with all the detail was published 15th Feb '19 and he was offering flights piloted himself in his helicopter in March '19 - see previous quote)
He is the owner as claimed in the original post.
It is his personal transport if he so wishes as the owner.
He has a very big willy.

TVR are a car company, why on earth are they fking about running a helicopter charter business?

Anyway, long time since I was involved in selling TVR,1994 to 2000, so my mind is a bit foggy about what's happened since then despite dipping in and out of the forums but have a couple of questions.

Who was the dealer that was selling vehicles on SOR and keeping the money when they went bankrupt and why does the name Richard Smith ring, alarm, bells?

What... Peter i thought you were a proper TVR man, of the south.

if you have genuine TVR blood you would know the WLA showroom was two floors of awesomeness hehe

I think the area it was in was classed as lark field.
