TVR Vixen S2 1969 WFD 400H
Discussion
Hi David things ok my end , doing bits to WFD 400H as and when got time and money , had to fit oil filter extension as the oil filter was very close to chassis and I had to use a bar against the engine to gain clearance to renew filter , so now the filter fits at a different angle , it also enables me to fit an oil cooler, so I've purchased a kit , still have to fit it yet, also got a pair of alloy ford rocker covers , need a bit of cleaning up, that's another job to do ,I was looking to have car on the road this year but to be realistic I think next spring would be a better time to head for , hope you well and fit , I have to say I'm not looking forward to winter already had one but that's took three weeks to get rid of , must be old age can't fight colds off like I used to , then again some of these new bugs are really nasty.
pS/ the price there asking for alloy rocker covers for the V6 a set just like mine but had been blasted and lacquered there asking £300 , crazy?

Amazing how the days whizz by..
Having trouble getting on site as well. .
Password seems to be malfunctioning.
I must be into Imps because I neglected WFD in preference to them..
How I stupidly rid of the Mason Stiletto special Saloon twice and the Vixen to help finance my son's meeting activities..

I was lucky my chassis was already renovated and modified to take the engine gearbox and diff and V6 motor all I had to do was Paint it what is the difference in the vixen to the Tuscan chassis then ?
amongst other smaller differences, the cross brace over the bellhousing is larger and more arched on the Tuscan presumably to accommodate engine and box removal together from above.Edited by anonymous-user on Tuesday 11th December 19:29

What do you still have left to do, Keith?
Still have new front suspension bushes to fit, although old bushes ok have renewed all rear so may as well make front the same ,and paint arms, have dashboard to fit and wire in ,, seats and belts to fit, as I mentioned earlier oil cooler to fit , and clean up and fit alloy rocker covers I've just purchased , two or three good weekends should see it ok , of course there will be other problems come up seeing it's been off road for so long , also brakes to bleed, just waiting to see if that silly two way valve lets me bleed system if it doesnt I'll just fit a three way connector and do without the valve and brake fail warning light, cheers Keith.Hi there,
Just ran across your build, fantastic job by the way!. I have a vixen 2500 I am working on also, finally getting the body painted in a couple weeks so I can get it back on the chassis. Anyhow was wondering if you could answer a couple questions for me. The windscreens, rear specifically, any tips on putting it in. That rear one scares me being so curved, it would be a sad sad day if it broke.. also regarding the rubber seals for almost everything, bonnet, doors, windscreens. Do you mind sharing your source for those. I have had difficulty tracking those down. I'm glad I found your interior photos, mine was gutted and will have to remake all the carpet and padding from photos.. thanks for any help!!
