A bit pissed at the TVRCC getting less exposure to risk by having half the deposit, I'm a lapsed member <snip>

Benefits of being a member and supporting the marque via the club is how TVR see it if you read the press release announcing this. Anyone know how many deposits have been taken for Les to say the first years build slots are nearly gone, given they were looking at a
They're not disclosing numbers of deposits taken but although they're aiming at higher production figures the press release also stated that the first year would be in the 'low hundreds' as they ramped up production.

Most manufactures when they release a range of cars will have...
- Launch editions
- Special editions
- Normal edition
What TVR are releasing first is a launch edition which is usually slightly different
from the later production cars.
And finish up with a Run-out Edition with a few extra goodies and a few visual differences to stimulate demand and get rid of the final few chassis. Often presented as a "Special Edition" available in limited numbers...- Launch editions

The website also makes the statement as follows - quote:
"A trick to help - pay the deposit by credit card and you're covered
The law's specific on this, you get the protection for the whole cost of an item or service, even if you only pay for a part of it on credit. The only condition is that what you're buying costs more than £100 and less than £30,000."
Buyer beware I suppose as it looks like there is a ceiling limit.
TVR said they were getting back to me re deposits and client accounts but as yet nothing. Maybe they have reached their target deposit numbers?

All very exciting stuff. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
I love the tone of the confirmation email, shows they know the customers.
I would imagine enough deposits have now been taken to see 2017 cars accounted for.... Glad I'm in the mix.
For me... So far... This is brilliant.
One happy chap!....
I predict a very impressive car, given how the team has evolved to date.... And conducted themselves.
Well done to all others who have shown faith and support..... I recon we will be well chuffed

Ditto. In for a penny and all that...
Doubt it will be anywhere near as quick as the tvrolet (LS-engined Tuscan, for sale in the classifieds BTW ), or handle as well, but hopefully a more practical proposition for the street. I was going to go down the Corvette C7 route, so this thing better be good

At least it will be a proper TVR and not a kit car this is said with tongue in cheek before TVRMs and UNREPENDENT have another go at me.... wonder how they feel about the success of the deposits so far Doubt it will be anywhere near as quick as the tvrolet (LS-engined Tuscan, for sale in the classifieds BTW ), or handle as well, but hopefully a more practical proposition for the street. That depends on how you define a 'proper TVR'. For me you are buying an unknown product with a TVR badge.TOV!E said:

So, how do I feel about the success of the deposits?
Honestly? I don't know if its a success or otherwise - guess the owner would know if it's done for him what he wants/needs.
Has it changed my mind about any form of commitment to a new something or other with a TVR badge on it, no. That said, I feel differently about the marque now compared with 10 or 15 years ago. Currently, I'd get more of a buzz from spending 100K on a new motorhome than I would spending it on any road car.
I am surprised that so many folk have done what they have done though, and I will reiterate what I have said before, I hope all turns out well for those committing and those in receipt of the funds.

I imagine, as with my Speed 6 you pay an unrealistically low RFL for a 300gm/km+ Griff... what makes this the case? I always thought it was some archaic 'anomaly' in the tax system whereby TVRs fall under some kind of Light Goods / low volume manufacturer banding.

Cant see your car in classifieds...? TVR Tuscan racer section has 3 but not LS engined ones.
