You can't beat cable ties... but please do it neatly using the proper cutting off tool .... Ex BT Network Manager ... That would have been a H&S issue smile
How is it a H+S issue?

You would not need to ask that had you ever had snagged soft tissue on a lazily snipped cable-tie... rage
Only one way to trim a cable-tie, and that's flush, with a fresh Stanley blade yes

As have I.

I usually do cut them flush, but only for neatness.

I purposely left it long to remind me in a few weeks when I change the wheels for the track wheels to fit the right fastener. That will make it a 14-year-old car with 86K miles on the clock, 100% factory.

it'll take a few weeks to refit the engine!

Shouldn’t be an issue - I believe there is a spare one in the back.

Just picked the Boxster up from the garage after having the Aircon re-gassed.

Went for a minor blast. Haven’t use the car for weeks as I’ve been on holiday and with the hot weather haven’t been out much. The pin sharp handling and the howl from the flat six just puts a smile on my face. Can’t wait till September 15, TVR track day at Cadwell Park again. It really is the perfect track for this car.

Enough of this non-TVR jabber…

On another note if anyone is in the area, it is the Capel classic car show here in Surrey today from midday. It really is a brilliant show with hundreds and hundreds of classic cars as well as other village stuff going on. I used to sneak in with my TVR and join the display in the past but now will just be an ordinary punter!

Not sure. Perhaps Sarney is having a senior moment and regressing?

Well, the Capel car show was either fantastic or not as good as it used to be depending on your opinion.

There was over 700 classic cars in one spot, loads of Countryfare stalls and food outlets. What was a lovely afternoon viewing 2–300 cars, a wood fired pizza van, a hog roast and a few other village friendly things going on has now moved into the much larger scale spectacle that it is. It has lost its friendly village atmosphere and is now a bit corporate. Absolutely loads of people there, teeming with huge queues for food, drinks, tea and coffee et cetera. It was never like that a few years ago.

On the plus side, a fantastic array of cars of which you never see normally. I won’t list them because they are the usual, unusual and more so. I did see one Griff and one chimaera there.

If I go next year, I will go before the 12 o’clock opening time. We arrived at midday and the place was heaving already. I don’t see the logic there but it works for them.

Moaning completed, dog walking in progress and a nice Savignon blanc chilling in the fridge.

Absolutely nowhere ... where it's been going for the last xx years.
In the meanwhile , I understand LucyP wants an update on the veg front ... well today my orange tree blew over in the wind, losing 7 oranges, so i picked 2 kilos of tomatoes and made some superb soup lick

Hats off to you growing guys.

The only thing we are growing this year are cherry tomatoes and these are in large pots on the patio so I don’t have to venture too far up the garden to pick them.

I live close to a Nuclear fuel production site .Yesterday I had a visit from a nice lady from CEFAS , who were undertaking a radiological habits survey in the area , she had been advised by neighbours that a gave away free veg . It took the following hour to conduct the survey of my garden , wanting to know with every item , how much i ate and how much I gave away . She was gobsmacked and a little surprised when I told her the 150 deer next door finish up on Waitroses shelves . I got my own back by sending her to another neighbour who grows his own veg but also has hens and sheep , I think she must have been on overtime and wished she'd never met me !!! smile
