On behalf of the workforce a BIG thankyou for this day. im sure a lot of us will remember it for years to come. You fully deserve the applause you got for showing such support. TVR Owners - we salute you.

On behalf of all TVR owners we owe all the TVR workers a BIG thankyou for their craftmanship & hardwork, you deserve the support & we SALUTE you ALL. Good luck to everyone of you. A very moving day, from someone fairly new to TVR ownership (14 months of cerbera ownership) well organised, WELL DONE.

It was a fantastic and fitting tribute to all by so many. I'm so sorry I could not be there.I should have been there. I was stuck at stupid work slogging my stupid guts out instead of going to stupid Blackpool in my bloody TVR and showing my support and appreciation to my beloved Griffith's superlative creators!!!

All the best of luck to the Bristol Avenue posse and thank you for my polished and pampered pride and joy.

No. Thank you!

Driving down Bristol Ave with all of you clapping us was very emotional and surely the wrong way round. I was also very touched when several workers came up to us at the pub to thank us for our support. As I told them it is absolutely the least we could have done.

Good luck and best wishes to all the lads and lassies at TVR.

Paul

In total agreement there, out in Saudi so no way could I make today's event but thank-you from the heart to the lads and lassies who made my 72 Vixen S3,79 3000M Turbo SE and my 93 Chimaera.

The pictures taken and posted onto the various threads are absolutely superb and show just how wonderfull those cars look.

Still gutted by the fact that the factory will be closing,I hope that the workforce all manage to find employment elsewhere and in as short a time as possible.

Once again,THANK-YOU TVR

Today the managment of TVR seem to have lost an extraodinary opportunity to practise the art of public relations, in their apparent attitude towards both their staff and their clientele, without either your business can not function. To piss one lot off is not clever but both??

Just a big thankyou to Dave and his wife for organising the event from us in Cumbria - got back home tonight, late and cold - you now how Chims prefer the roof in the boot whenever.

What brought today home to me was that every car there was built at the Blackpool factory so it was taking the car back to its birthplace for the last time. TVRs 'may' eventually get built in Italy but my Chim will always be British Racing Green with British Wilton carpets and British sawdust on the garage floor to soak up the drips. I kinda like no air bag, no ABS, no frills motoring - I only hope there is a wealthy benfactor out there who will help keep TVR in the UK - I would even buy shares in such company if the workforce could manage it.

it was a really overwhelming day and one that i will never forget.
i only hope the "management" were watching the event and maybe at least had some sad feelings.(after today you all know who i mean)
to clear up one alleged rumour " we did NOT down tools" enough said!

Im supposed to be the hard, callous son a of a b..ch at work but driving past the work force and meeting you at the pub after did bring a lump to the throat. You all get my vote for the future and my support. Lets just hope something is sorted and TVR remains the UKs number 1 sports car manufacturer.

What a day of mixed emotions! I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.

I am so pleased that i was able to go, and thoroughly enjoyed the journey (500 mile round trip) and meeting other owners, making new friends.

I was travelling in convoy with a couple of dozen other Tivs along the M6, with fantastic weather (roof off of course), the car was running well, when i was struck by a huge pang of guilt.

The single reason behind me being in such company and driving my car to Blackpool, is the impending closure of the birth place of our cars, and the loss of hundreds of jobs, the very people who transformed lumps of metal, plastic and leather into my lovely car.

Driving past those workers outside the factory, who were clapping and cheering us? for goodnes sake. It was a most humbling experience, and along with many others, it brought a lump to my throat, and a tear to my eyes.

The atmosphere was electric, and confusing. We were celebrating the workers, they were celebrating us. These people are amazing, and all of the guys and gals that i spoke to at the pub had a positive outloook on almost every aspect of life, with the exception of their future emplyment. You could tell that they love their jobs. Folks who have worked at TVR for years, and have created the very "soul" of the marque, that lives on in the cars, and contributes towards the pleasure we get from them.
- Smolenski, get your auditors to check again. Your biggest asset, by a mile, is your people. Without them, you and TVR are nothing. Wake up and get a grip

TVR Workers, we salute you
I wish you all the very best of luck. You deserve so much better

Thanks to Loose Cannon and Andyoleary for riding shotgun for the whole journey, and a very special thanks to NTEL (Dave) and Mrs NTEL, and all of the other organisers, the idea and execution was inspirational.

i know, too much schmaltz for a big bloke, but its the way i feel

It's 12.00 and have just arrived back in Chesham, Bucks . When I left the pub, it looked like many folks were getting stuck in for a very long night....enjoy!! Like many of the contributors, I have very mixed emotions about the day. It was 'illuminating' to say the least (understatement), talking directly to the workers.....a nicer, more committed group of people you could'nt wish to meet..............I am so pleased that I met many of you.....a really special day.

Right now I have to admit to feeling angry......such a waste, such possibilities likely to be frittered away.....paradoxically however, today was also a great day....a day when a powerful community of people came together and enjoyed each others company....we should all pat each other on the back....today we all did good....I would'nt think that those of us who were lucky enough to be there will ever forget it.

Off to the land of nod now, will write more tomorrow.

Mr & Mrs Ntel, you did such a great job.

Thanks to all who helped with the lifts (Michael, the guy in the ocean haze griff - thank you).

Thank you to all the workers past and present and those who took time out to join us in the pub.

Very, very well articulated, Dave. Every company I've ever worked for has used the 'our people are our greatest asset' phrase at one time or another, but nowhere is it more true than the guys and gals at the factory. They've had no pay rises for years, but their passion and commitment to building our P&Js has not faltered. It was absolutely clear from talking to them yesterday that their craftsmanship and experience brings the cars together, not by simply following a written instruction. bow

It was a day I will always remember, and I'm not afraid to say that I have a tear in my eye as I write this because such a fabulous bunch of people are being treated like sh1t by NS and his cronies.

I completely echo Dave's comments, I had a fabulous day but was struck by the poignancy of the moment when we drove past the factory workers (several times....) I was touched by the many workers who took time to personally thank us for showing our support.

My first real "hoon" out and had a really great time meeting lots of different people (and cars), made some friends and got to see Blackpool and the factory. Really enjoyed the convoy with Dave and Mark and everyone else! Thanks all!

Andy
