Bloody Horrible....this is no better than the motor show model. How you can draw any comparisons between this eyesore and the gorgeous Griff or Chimaera is a mystery to me. I hope this isn't an indication of TVR's future philosophy.

....beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder - but I'm left wondering if your ancenstors smashed up machinery in 18th Century cotton mills....

Definately a TVR of the best traditions: good looking, radical and no doubt very fast and noisy. Can't wait!! 007

just back into the office and,,,,, what do I see,,,,,, confirmation. You cannot polish a turd, too cluttered, too expensive, and too small. Gona keep my Chimp 500 for now, at least I can get in. At the show it was like trying to get into an elise with the roof on. not convinced.

Then again, from the tms photos the front looks startled and the bum is too big.. Long live the Chimaera

it certaionly seems lower to the ground than my Chim, and it does take a bit more effort to get out - but hey, who needs a boulevard cruiser like a Chimaera!!

Looking better but I still can't get on with those flared wheel arches and the pokey rear lights. Not sure I like the double air vent on the bonnet too much either, I'll stick to my Griff for now thanks.

I always thought the Griff's rear lights were pokey, too.

Went out for a burn in the Chim today, and my girlfriend pointed out the failing that's made me order a Tamora - fantastic grip, but as she put it, "it doesn't like corners, the front's too heavy and makes the back end skip about" - I know what she means, it's the same reason it breaks traction on bumpy roads in the wet. I have driven a Tuscan several times, and the difference in road holding isn't very noticeable, until you hit a bumpy English A or B road - the compliance in the Tuscan suspension is a HUGE improvement over the Chimaera, and gives greter ride comfort and confidence - since the Tamora is based on the same set-up, hopefully the same rules will apply - if TVR are to remain as serious car makers, they need to improve on "slow in, fast out" as a handling philosophy - I think they can do it, and that's why I'm putting my money into a Tamora. I think the shape is, as often the case with TVR, a set of compromises, but I like it, and maybe a few Z3 and Boxster owners might look at TVR as a result of this car. I want to invest in TVR'S future, not dwell in an imperfect machine from an imperfect past! (I can see I'm in for some slings and arrows for that one!) I wonder if the kit-car effect is enhanced by the red paint job - kit cars always seem to come in Ferrari red when you seem them on tv! Edited by nubbin on Tuesday 8th May 09:35

"I always thought the Griff's rear lights were pokey, too. " maybe the 'new' Griff rear lights granted but surely not the standard ones.

I saw this thing in the flesh for the first time at the weekend and what a shock i got!!!!!! This car has to be the worst thing Blackpool has ever turned out the front is ugly and the back is a joke. Be warned anyone buying one will be hit by the worst depriciation ever in the first year. This is a twenty grand (at best) pig trying to be something else

Woah, this is getting nasty. I guess the proof will be in the Tamora'a order book and residuals in a years time. I have to agree with the fact that APART from it possessing 360BHP, this car simply does not have the Wow factor that EVERY TVR has had over the last 5 years. OK the Tuscan wasn't to everyones taste, but it is stunning - and almost everyone notices it. I can't see this happening with the Tamora. It will be interesting to hear what it sounds like as this could be a redeeming feature. The Griff was not particularly a head turner purely on its appearance, but that fantastic rumble never failed to capture an audience.

Hmmm... apart from Tasmin FHC, most of the other wedges, Taimar, etc. And, let's face it, the Z3 isn't the prettiest car around, the SLK is dull and conservative, the Boxster doesn't know which end is the front, and sells on reputation. The VX220 is an angular chunk of a thing. Even the Elise is a matter of taste and, again, reputation. It will be interesting to see what the motoring press say - that is what really makes or breaks a new cars credentials.....Hey ho!.... Edited by nubbin on Thursday 10th May 09:34

EVO did like it, didn't they! 5-star rating, and sounds like the handling is superb. Minor gripe about the back end (yes, it isn't perfect) but otherwise very complimentary. Article signed off by saying, "If there's any justice, there should be a return to the golden days in Blackpool". Looking forward to getting mine even more, now!! Sorry about the wedge thing, BrmBrm, but there have been a few design gaffes in the past - I don't think the Tamora design is as bad as some comments have suggested, and I ordered mine for better dynamics in a TVR, not to pose about in an outrageous shape - although that would be a nice secondary benefit!! I used to love wedgies when I was a kid, and lusted after a 390SE, because one mag hit 60 in 3.86secs in one! Edited by nubbin on Friday 11th May 09:45
