No Mikey......

destroyed a TT on the way home tonight for good measure.....the Tamora is back

I must admit though, barring these couple of incidents I have calmed down a lot since I saw the pictures of the Griffith that those two people from Cambridge died in.....it doesn't bear thinking about......

I was out one night with a couple of mates, one who usually rides an R6 but had a company Astra to use. Coming back at around 3 am on the Hendon Way he starts to accelerate hard towards the corner, trying to show that he can take that corner as quick as I can in my Supra, except he is not on his R6!! Anyway, me and another friend in my car could tell he was "gonna lose it" we said it just before it happened. Anyway, he must have been doing over 100 when he lost and went into a spin, smashed into the raised pavement, spun again and came to rest in the middle of the dual carriageway. We were shocked. It looked like something out of those police chase documentaries. Like someone else said on this thread, it was all in slow motion.

anyway we moved the car to the side and called the recovery company. He was so lucky the police didnt arrive to see it! Gearbox cracked. Engine cracked. wheels bent etc.

Two months later, he is given a Volve 70 cabriolet!! Lucky bastard! Some of the perks of working in an accountants firm. I should have pursued that after my degree.

It does really bring it home when you see the aftermath of a big accident, or are involved in one yourself. It has definately changed my driving. I had a big off on my bike once too, on a race track. Another bike hit me and we both went down, sliding along the tarmac. The crankcase on his bike was worn through so that there was a hole about the size of a 10p piece through it from it sliding down the track. Both of us off to hospital, my leathers in shreds, crash helmet flat on one side! I used to feel a bit immortal, but these incidents have calmed me down!
