Err…what was the question again?
What should Baconsarney wear on the nudist beaches of Norfolk?

I got an email from Ginetta this morning saying that, despite the US address etc.., the G56 is only road legal in the UK. So that's very confusing!

Pops head around door perhaps for the final time to see if there is a car to be bought yet.
Despite what I said last time, I'm popping my head around the door again to see if there is a car to be bought; to be honest, it may be what's happened over the last 12 months, but I quite fancy a 500bhp lightweight, manual shift, loud V8 sportscar for £80k! I'll come back again in another year.
I skipped a year checking. I don't think I've missed anything in the last two?

All i see is the grim reaper & wilted greens not a lazy lob never mind a hard up in sight.
Support your greens, well some one has to. Vote green & smell the difference.
Or wait until they are red & then feel the difference.

Ginetta G56 GTR

I was told Laurence Thomlinson an under bidders when the Russian bought the business, he then purchased Ginetta instead. LNT probably waiting in the wings…….

Just passing thru after a long absence.
I still have my '94 4litre Chim. Still arguably the best car l've had since l bought my 1st car, an Austin 7, 55 yrs ago.
I'm still a TVR supporter and fan.
Clearly the big let-down for most, judging from the continuing pages on this topic, has been the lack of delivery of the phase 3 Griffith.
I'm not up to speed with any communications about TVR which Les might have made over the past, say 12mths.
My question is this: because imo, and possibly objectively, no sports car can now be produced which is anywhere near as striking, lovely or timeless as the Sagaris and the Cerbera, why cannot Les plough all his remaining investment money into producing a phase 2 Sag and Cerb which look unchanged from 2005?
I am aware that there might be the objection that stringent construction rules make this impracticable, but l mean, would there not still be a market across Europe, the USA and China for, say producing a thousand a year?
For the record, l was never entirely convinced about the happiness of design of the Ph.3 Griff; the Sag and Cerb are, to me, the quintessence of loveliness. : )

We covered that on page 42 shortly after deciding that it wasn’t a great idea suggesting Les started in a shed just like Trevor did. The upshot of the Mk2 Sag was I believe that it was the Sag that knackered TVR first time round so the portent of doom, and the dark shadow of the apocalypse would descend to start that shenanigan again.

To buy what, the name?

I’d imagine it’s worthless now..

Tomlinson was doing his due diligence when Moleskins pitched up and basically said "how much do you want". PW couldn't sign fast enough, the kid overpaid for sure.

If Moleskins had carried on then by now TVR would have been impounded as a Russian asset.

Brand and IP to a Gordon Murray designed car. Probably will be available at a fraction of the price of what it cost so far. LNT group is a pretty impressive set up and have toyed with road cars .

Yep like I said. Pretty worthless then.

A car to be produced using a design and construction technique no one else on the planet wanted to buy into in the first place, and a car that looks severely dated.

As for the brand, no one outside of people who currently own a TVR will care.

I think that what Ginetta has done over recent years in motorsport is fantastic, giving legs up to so many young drivers.
But financially it makes sorry reading - accumulated losses as at the 2022 accounts are £38 million.
For example, it lost about £4.8 million on £9.2 million turnover in the year to March 2022.

The whole Ginetta exercise is financed by Lawrence Tomlinson's Care Home business, I believe.

Ginetta, Marcos, Aston Martin, TVR... none of them ever were money-making ventures!

However the more mainstream super car brands, which could be said to be selling more brand, lifestyle and imagery as well as pinnacle performance vehicles, have all seen profits increase.

Eg Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini

Not directly comparable, but demand is there.
