I've harvested 4 peppers from our kitchen overwintered plants, and there's more growing, plus another batch of 12 plants growing ready and some chilli plants too...

I'm still driving mine, out at Laon Historic the other weekend

Looks like very dry cut hay.
Very hot exhausts.

Did you have any barbeques at the campsite ?
It was massively dry up until yesterday, our BBQs are all kettles so relatively safe but we keep fire extinguishers handy.
However we were glad the grass had been dampened for our hog roast

The motor is a windscreen wiper motor of course smile

Is that a broad bean mortar in the middle of the picture, for delivering the fresh picked missiles??

Breaking news.
A prominent car experience company has purchased a TVR TAMORA to use as both a hi speed passenger ride and customer drive car.
I happen to work for them.
My first task will be to blow off the multi national champions we have working for us as i’m the Tvr driver round these parts biggrin
How very exciting this news is for members of the public never lucky enough to own one.
Traumatic for me biglaugh
It’s a 3.6 and am I right in thinking the Tamora handles as good if not better than most TVR ?
What tyres should I get.
I suppose I should venture onto the Tamora page… is there even one!
Tvr lives on and that’s a damn fine looking plant above.

Presumably it's got to be driveable in both dry and wet conditions, so sometihing that will do both.
Yokohama AD08R (I think there's a newer version now) or the Michelins the Porsche/BMW people use for the Ring?

Enjoy it anyway. I drove one about 10 years ago and the handling was really good.
The only thing I struggled with was the floor hinged pedals, but that's my problem, not the car's.

If you can find him on Facebook, ask Jony Ellis your questions. He has/had a 6.2 LS3 Tamora with which he did a lot of Sporting Bears events.
He also used to come to Curborough in his Chimaera 4.3.
He lives quite near you IIRC.

Its amazing how quickly tempus fugit's the older you become. So I put together a timeline of TVR's (lack of) progress from day one in the form of quotes, statements, promises, news (don't hold your breath on this subject) and spin. Lots of spin. All the comments are taken from TVR updates. There are no references to the accounts in this timeline.
They say the Irish have the gift of the gab and in this case it would appear to be true. The comments in bold are mine so you can substitute your own.

Title: I had a dream...

12/4/13  -  TVR Automotive is incorporated.
Here we go on the rollercoaster...

14/11/14   -  TVR have launched a new website offering genuine parts for a range of TVR models. With stock of over 2500 lines ranging from wheel nuts to body sections, and technical experts who can also give advice on fitting them.
TVR Parts was incorporated in December 2020 and is still not functioning at all.

17/4/15  -  As part of its ongoing plans to support existing TVR owners, TVR is pleased to announce the purchase of the parts business of David Gerald/Classic World Racing which focused on pre-1980 TVRs.
See the previous entry.

3/6/15  -  TVR has developed a product and launch programme that will see at least four new models brought to market over the next ten years.
It is June 2023 so just 2 years of the 10 year plan to go and still no first car.

Edgar continues: “We are a well‐funded, well‐supported organisation and boast a vastly experienced management team. We are here to stay and we have a fully evolved ten year plan for product and business development, and are committed to deliver on all the targets we have set ourselves ‐ as we have done to date.
Actually, you have missed every target set....

Production of the car will begin in 2017.
...and this is the first of many missed targets...

1/7/15  -  TVR will take a £5,000 deposit from all interested parties.  However, the company has also announced that it will offer a limited quantity of reduced deposits to TVR Car Club members during July.  Anyone who has been a member of the club for more than 6 months will be offered the opportunity to pay a £2,500 deposit, and TVR will also make a financial donation to the TVR Car Club for each deposit taken from a member.
How many interested parties are still interested 8 years on?

8/10/15  -  Having achieved most of what we need for the road car, we continue to build on the strengths of the base engine, heading towards our various milestones of track, one make series and Le Mans cars, refining the road car version alongside developing the race versions.
Re-writing Alice in Wonderland?  TVR needs to learn to walk before it runs.

5/5/16  -  New teaser images have been unveiled by TVR at the London Motorshow Press conference.
Teasing seems to be a TVR strong point.

16/9/16  -  I can see that an update as to progress probably seems overdue.
Understatement of the last 8 years.  Probably TVR's biggest failing other than producing customers' cars.

We will be more communicative from now on.
Communication Breakdown is more appropriate.

16/6/17  -  we will be suspending the taking of orders for the Launch Edition car on the 30th June. We will re-open the order book for the few remaining cars on the 8th September at Goodwood.
All deposits should have been returned before now.

27/7/17  -  Last week, the brand's chairman, Les Edgar, confirmed to Autocar that development of the super coupé is on course despite issues surrounding the location of its new factory at the Circuit of Wales. Edgar told Autocar that his company's plans to open a factory near the site at the start of 2018 were unaffected. This will lead to the build of the first pilot car for the new model six months later, with production of the first customer cars starting after that.
How is this possible?  TVR stated production would start in 2017 (see above) even though at the time they never even had a factory or workforce but interested parties were handing over £5,000 deposits.

TVR has sworn customers who have already seen the car to secrecy - to the extent of asking them to sign confidentiality agreements.
This was a taster of the TVR management style.  Dear oh dear.

24/8/17  -  TVR has launched their new website today... so the wheels are now getting into motion.
4 years after starting the new company which seems to be the norm.

8/9/17  -  New 200mph TVR Griffith Revealed.
Revealed?  It was supposed to be in production by now...

19/12/17  -  We have some news and it’s BIG – the factory, that is! 200,000 sq. foot in Ebbw Vale, soon to be echoing to the rumble and crackle of V8 engines as we head towards production.
Probably TVR's biggest gaff to date given the 2 previous announcements on car production targets and to date, 6 years on, remains empty and un-leased.

5/4/18  -  When we resurrected the TVR brand, we knew that we wanted to achieve a return to the race track.
But you need to actually produce a car first. No?

16/6/18  -  TVR is back at Le Mans.
Sponsoring another race team does not mean TVR is back at Le Mans (and that team went into administration not long after)

27/10/18  -  There have been a number of factors that have delayed us.
The only factor that has delayed TVR is no funding.

The hold up with the main factory due to EU regulations requiring a lengthy tendering process.
But today, 5 years on, the factory is complete and has been for the last 12 months but TVR has not signed the lease.  The Welsh Government has always said from day one that TVR will not occupy the factory until it can prove it has at least £5 million in credit.

We have been presented with a couple of very significant and exciting opportunities that will hugely expand our overall business plan and guarantee not only our short-term success, but also ensure that our 10-year plan can be delivered while enabling us to grow far faster than we ever envisaged when we embarked on this journey – in terms of model platforms, territories, and sales volumes. We are in discussions with a couple of major potential partners in this respect, and will share the news when we are able to,
This is simply spin and another missed target.

Ensuring we don’t trip over our shoelaces in finalising what will be the most important deal in the history of TVR, by a huge factor.
More gratuitous spin to keep the deposit holders on the hook.  Nothing ever happened.

We can now give you the timeline for completion of the works on the refurbishment
Erm, no you cannot.

The refurbishment of the landlord’s ‘shell’ should take approximately 6 months to complete, which will be dovetailed in with our fit-out works.
More nonsense.  The actual work to rebuild the derelict building took 18 months and cost the taxpayer £6.2 million plus £4.7 million to buy it.  In keeping with the now customary empty promises, the fit out works never started.

The works to complete the smaller training, test and prototype build facility are well under way, and Blaenau Gwent local council have now given us a completion / handover date for this facility of March 2019. It remains an option to complete customer builds in this facility should there be any delays to the main factory programme, although we have no reason to believe that that should prove to be the case.
Spin or lies, you decide.  A Freedom of Information response by Blaenau Gwent Council states it has not entered into any agreement for such a building.  The Council confirms they have allocated TVR an office room in an old building free of charge.  TVR never mentioned it again.

We continue to monitor all communications - both directly to us by email and on the various forums. The latter we do not engage with for the usual reasons, although we obviously note, and pay attention to, those where the comments are relevant, factual, rational(!), and so on
Not true.  Many replies on Facebook including the now famous free helicopter ride by one of the directors.  However, the last activity on the TVR pages was more than 3 years ago.

26/2/19  -  I have been talking about this delay caused by the tendering process for the last few months and mentioned it in depositor updates.
But the factory has been ready for 1 year now and TVR is still not in it today!  Any delays are down to TVR's lack of cash.

I was (correctly) quoted as saying “Under EU rules, the Welsh Government has had to follow a 7-month tender process for the work to bring the building up to standard. At last, that period has run, and in January next year, the contract will be given to the winning company. From then it’s going to take six months to get the building ready for us.
Oh no it won't.  It took Jones Bros 18 months, the very company TVR extolled the virtues of, lauding their government contracts including road building.

Autocar followed this up with a completely inaccurate statement along the lines of ….the tendering process means that work on the factory is unlikely to commence for many months to come..!  It made me bl**dy cross, I can tell you.
Autocar got it bang on Mr Angry.  Have you apologised publicly for this?

19/6/19  -  The company confirmed real progress in finding new equity investment to support pre-production vehicle development, and the tender process is now complete for refurbishment of the building in Rassau, which is TVR's preferred location for full car production.
4 years on and still no money.  The only reason Rassau was the 'preferred location' was the Welsh Government's £3 million loan and £500,000 investment in the company.

31/8/19  -  As ever we only bring you news when it’s news - not spin
A dictionary would help TVR understand the difference between 'news' and 'spin'.  So far only 'spin'.

The factory is proceeding more slowly than we would like and whilst we are achieving forward momentum, sometimes bureaucratic processes that are designed to assist actually hamper.
Oh come on.  A totally dilapidated building of 200,000 sq ft rebuilt in 6 months?  Not paid for by TVR, by the taxpayer.

To compete effectively on the worldwide stage on a standalone basis is not something you can do from Walliswood or indeed Ebbw Vale, you need a serious partner.
At last some 'news'.  Finally an admission of the reality of bringing TVR back from the dead.

We aren’t going to back off or fail to deliver.
Might want to delete that?

The cash requirement has grown. That means raising more than we had planned.
So what happened to the 10 year plan?  Surely not an admission of failure?  TVR can use Brexit, Covid, the Tender process and the Ukraine war's effect on interest rates as excuses as nothing is TVR's fault.

There's now a stretch between expectation when we were pressed to open the depositor book and current expectation.
Yes, 6 years since incorporation and still no factory, no car and no workforce despite many promises and lots of spin. More than mere 'stretch'.

2/3/20  -  A planning application has been submitted to Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council detailing refurbishment of the former Techboard factory on Rassau Industrial Estate, which will become the manufacturing home of the new vehicle.
Don't count your chickens.  There is still the small matter of cash.

23/12/20  -  We learned today that it has awarded the renovation contract to Jones Brothers (Henllan) Ltd., and that they expect works on site to begin in mid January. This is a fantastic milestone for us to have achieved, and has taken far longer than any of us would have thought, but we hope that you will now be feeling as optimistic as we all are.
The spin machine must be nearly worn out.  TVR hasn't achieved anything, the government did it all.

We expect to take possession of the prototype build area early in Q3 2021, and will confirm timing for the full factory fit-out and production preparation as soon as we are able.
Stop it now TVR, just stop it.

We aim to start producing a number of prototypes for the Griffith in Q4 next year.
It really is cruel how you keep playing the deposit holders.

27/1/21  -  Planning permission for an upgrade to the existing factory in Ebbw Vale, Wales has now been granted which, when complete, will bring the company another step closer to putting a new TVR on the road. Factory renovation works are expected to start this month and sets the timescale for start of production of the Griffith.
From spin to news!

We are confident we are now into the final straight to commence manufacturing, with the first cars being delivered in 2022.
Ah, the same quote as TVR made during its successful CBILS Loan application when the taxpayer paid the first year's interest and arrangement fee to their lender to pay off an existing loan to the very same lender. Didn't they do well?

7/6/21  -  Jones Brothers are very busy!
Not busy enough as TVR stated the work would be completed by now.

The proposed prototype build area, which will be the first area we take possession of
Back to spin.  The whole factory is refurbished and still waiting for TVR today some 2 years later.

We’re now busy working on finalising the internal layouts for the production areas and the designs for the new offices at the front. We’re looking forward to getting on site once we have clean, dry and weather-proof areas to work in!
Spin, spin and more spin.  The factory is clean, dry and weatherproof.  What is TVR waiting for? The bank manager?

15/11/21  -  TVR is delighted to announce that it has today signed an agreement with Ensorcia Metals Corporation that provides significant funding for the formation of a joint venture in the EV space as well as for the production development of the V8-engined Griffith through its affiliate Ensorcia Automotive.
The chairman of Ensorcia 'buys' a seat on the TVR board along with a well known financial expert who will raise some cash.  The financial expert resigned after just 10 months.

Work on future powertrain alternatives has already commenced, alongside development of the TVR product family beyond the Griffith Launch Edition.
Might it be better to concentrate on giving the deposit holders their long overdue cars first?

26/4/22  -  It’s been a while since we were able to fully update you on all things TVR and Griffith.
Par for the course.  Public relations is seriously lacking at TVR.

The current state of play is that Jones Brothers, the main contractors for the complete renovation of the site, are due to hand over the facility at the end of this month.
Actually, officially handed over on the 1st July 2022 but remains empty to this day.

Now to the task of fitting out for production / assembly purposes.
TVR promised this on the 7th June 2021 so what are the chances?

Our plans to bring TVR EV's to market are well underway, with the first of two models to be released shortly after the release of the newest Griffith and Limited-Edition Griffith EV models in 2024.
Where have we heard this before?

The factory was officially completed on the 1st July 2022.  One year on It remains empty.  The last excuse was TVR and the Welsh Government were discussing the details of the lease.

And your point is.

hehe

Only joking.

biggrin This where we are after 10 years. 10 year wedding anniversary is meant to be aluminium or tin so given its a car seems appropriate.

what a list, respect.

its like keeping TVR alive when its 'dead' all those years, I wonder why, sure they are/were not stupid, what were they thinking you wonder.

most stories we know what they said, but what went on in their minds?
