So its all well and good owning such a fine car but you need to know how to drive them. Otherwise you'll just be another muppet how still lives with their parents so they can drive a flash car. Steve
Yeah I live with parents, but who needs a house? You can’t drive a house but you can sleep in your car.

You can't drive them for long though before they pack up. I'm 26,live with the parents and would love a Chimaera or Griffith, but can't afford one. I guess I'll stick with the Toyota and Spitfire. When I was 17 I had a rusty Brown Manta, beat that!!!

I am 24 and bought an S3 last year, insurance with Direct Line cost £1,285. I live in central london and park it on the street (under a cover fitted by my Mum!)
Also about to fit Penisula sports exhaust, is this wise?

Hey, what's all this digging at young people with TVRs?! I'm now 24 (posted ealier on this thread when I was 23 - time flies!), 8 months out of Uni (nearly got rid of the smell now) and am loving every minute of thrashing my 99S 4.0 Chimp . I also have a Renault Megane and a Golf GTi. And I own my own house in Cheshire. However, I'm also quite ugly and have just broken up with a girl who looked like a cross between Julia Roberts and Natalie Imbruglia , so you can stop hating me and think, 'that's alright then!'

Anyway, I think the most irritating person would be someone who has the car, the looks and the brains - just like that Fosters advert from years ago for anyone with a very good memory. Anyone willing to claim this one?

Regards.

roadsweeper.

PS: Just returned from America and can say without a doubt that a young American 'chick' driving a TVR cannot be a bad thing!

Meant to say, I think people should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the whole 'I bet Daddy bought that for him.' I get that all the time and it really me off because I earnt every penny I'm worth myself, and was self-financing through Uni as well.

In saying that, it me off even more when people do get everything on a plate, so on second thoughts just hurl abuse at anyone young with anything nice - including myself - there's a chance you'll be right and that justifies it.

But have you got anything nice? (And given the fact that this site is run by you I expect you to keep it clean!)

OK, here we go - sour grapes time... I've just bought my first TVR (50th birthday pressie). I've done the crap jobs, got married, got the house, got the kids, now I've got my big-boy's toy. I don't begrudge young tiv owners - I just don't know how they do it! I was even refused insurance for my '96 4 litre Chimaera from one company on the grounds that I had no experience of a similar car - over 12 years no claims record too!!! (how did the 22 year-old owner at the top of this thread get his experience then?). N.E.Way, I'm just enjoying listening to that V8 sound and experiencing the power ...now, where's my comfy slippers?
