I don’t grow vegetables I buy them in Waitrose. I do need some popcorn though - not sure I can grown the corn.

They must have known that they may never get a car.
Hmm, I'm not so sure about the last sentence. Quotes like, "We are well funded and we are here to stay", " production will start next year" (2018) are statements that would lead people to believe they would get their car. If TVR had said, 'look, we have some money but not enough without a serious backer' then I'd agree. But all the promises and quotes have been issued to keep the depositors on the hook even though the company knew many were never remotely achievable.

It is only a couple of years ago TVR stated they were looking forward to getting into a dry clean factory after having badgered the Welsh Government for some 18 months, blaming the delays on the EU tender process. That has now been shown to be total bks. They didn't have the money or the backer at that time so it was blatantly untrue. Along comes Ensorcia and they shout loudly about this 'multi-million pound investment' to keep the deposit holders happy and give them faith, yet the completed factory has remained empty for over 15 months now.

And still there are hundreds of prospective buyers who love the brand so much they are prepared to go through all this, fervently believing they will get a car.

Is there really anyone left out there who still believes that they are going to get a car? I don't think there is!

And the skill in life is never to believe anything until you have verified the statement yourself.

You do that better than just about anyone on here. You have never been taken in. You have contacted the Welsh govt. You have looked at the accounts. You have looked into Ensorcia.

You have then posted your findings on here, which seem to show that the statements don't appear to be right.

LE started his first business (computer games) by lying about his knowledge of how to do it, but then he learned and succeeded in doing it.
He tried the same scheme with the car industry but this time he did not succeeded.

Selling MS DOS to IBM for a good price after having bought it cheaply from a company which almost did a copy of CP/M...

I never wanted one from the first moment I saw it. Frightful looking thing, No TVR DNA there at all (subjective opinion obviously). I think my Chimaera is a better looking car with a timeless quality about it.......... Everyone knows the best looking car ever to go in to production is the Gaydon Vantage. I mean we all know that. It's like the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Faberge eggs, and Scarlett Johansen all rolled in to one on four wheels.... Then theres the AC Cobra, another timeless master piece of automotive design. The Ford GT40.... Maybe even the Porsche 917K............ Ferrari GTO............. Lambo has never really done it for me, spectacular to be sure, but for me, just (only just) misses that special something thats hard to define.... Mate was going to buy one a few years back (think it was a Huracan),,, I told him he'd look like a knob driving it here in rural Narferk... he bought a red California instead..... still looked like a knob.. At least he didn't wear a Ferrari hat/coat/polo shirt/socks/scarf etc etc.

So, so much for new Griff and TVR roaring back. At least the ill fated De Lorean had a starring role in some Hollywood block busters.... Great Scott smile

I believe Mr Callaghan said "a man's got to know his limitations" but then again he also said "do ya feel lucky, punk, well do ya?"

Did anyone ever really believe it was certain…surely not. But surely it was unlikely to be that clear cut in anyone’s mind (or maybe there were a few!). I for one thought:
- it’s unlikely to happen as the world has moved on, electrics coming, no one makes money out of sports cars, how will the numbers work etc etc
- I didn’t want one as it looked terrible (but I liked lots of things about the concept).
- i found Les and his team irritating and they lacked the skills
- but I still wanted it to succeed despite my personal negativity towards it.
- there was a bunch of glass half full persons who found any negativity extremely irritating so like most things on the web it became a topic that divided into 2 camps….hilarious.

The whole debacle has been a shambles, from the start to the slow unresponsive silent death.

Ultimately a missed opportunity for something that could have been really fantastic for both new and existing fans of the marque
The debacle was unresponsive from day 1. A comms/PR farce.

How NOT to do it.

In regards to fans, because of all this they’ve successfully turned ardent supporters against them, and only have themselves to blame.

Its all academic now!

The only remaining loose thread is when and in what way will this debacle come to an end.

Our time and energy would be better spent debating that.

They are probably now keeping it on life support in the hope that the Welsh Assembly and others simply give up trying to recover any funds invested, if they actually call time then there could be legal repercussions.

I imagine they could keep the whole farce legally live on paper for eternity.

The thing is so old now that the next trick will probably be to market it as a retro investment!

Any ideas what value would be placed on the 2019 registered TVR Griffith (reported to cost over £10 million to develop and have built) ?
Is that vehicle being shown as a depreciating company asset, on the published TVR balace sheets ?
Well I am drooling constantly over the T440R thats for sale and working out if I sell the Sag and some other toys I could have it as my ultimate toy.

And if the 2019 Griff comes up for sale, well I have £2.50 in my jeans pocket, because that's all that its worth to me. To be fair I would pay a lot more for the pleasure of using a sledge hammer to turn it back to its component parts and setting fire to the lot.

They never had a hope in hell of selling that pig ugly sorry excuse for a TVR
