WTF does this have to do with the new TVR
There’s a new TVR ?
as much as any horticultural input

surprised no one mentioned lemons

TBH as long as something is being added it keeps the thread from disappearing to the dusty pages of history.

Yes Alun, a cheap track day car.

It is no 400 BHP TVR but still great fun. Luckily I kept the spare set of wheels and track tyres from my last one.

It already has the Cupra R front splitter fitted.

New front end is going in today. You some friend has cast alloy lower suspension arms.

Brands Indy muncher coming up.
With the lack of Tvr car development news which was always my interest ( I think they did a couple of brake tests and posted the videos ) I too am finding myself tinkering with toys that cost pennies but do a great job and after recent events out of my control this is a great way to keep some sanity. Even in times of virtual lockdown you need your projects to remind you of better days to come.

As someone once said ‘ the best things in life are free’ and in the case of those old Skoda proof things don’t have to cost a packet to get results.
Nice set up thumbup
And slightly more amusing than vegetable growing biggrin

You asked.

My fourth MK1 vRS bought for mostly track days.

Stage 2 tuning complete so 230+ horses.

Just about to change the front subframe, rack, hubs and suspension arms from a Cupra R, (quicker steering) plus 101 other mods, repairs and upgrades.

Thoroughly enjoying it and keeps me occupied.
Liking the Skoda bath idea. Do all VAG dealerships have them now? hehe

FREE? A free Skoda (poetic licence), not to be sniffed at. No £5,000 deposit required, either, what's not to like?

Exploratory works in January so with a new roof and extensive repairs say 6 months minimum - July 2021.
Then pre-production leading to production say 18 months - January 2023?

The Coyote engine in 5 litre form will most likely be discontinued before then and at the moment likely to be replaced by a 4.8 although with increased power. So, stockpile Coyotes or prepare for the new engine? Or wait for Ford to develop hybrid for the future?
Decisions, decisions.

Update to depositors implies prototypes Q3 2021 so will be well into 2022 for production I would imagine.

The most important thing to read is the final paragraph.
Sounds like the Welsh gov will be paying to re furb a building they value on what should be a very accessible ind est from England for any business now the Haul road for many miles has been widened and flattened out at huge cost so trucks can use what used to be known as the valleys road but not a place you’d like to drive on a winters day but now the new road opens up all sorts of possibilities.
Does this read we will refurb this building and Tvr can use it if they have a product to work on. Even Welsh gov ministers must see Tvr situation as well as anyone.
So far the Welsh gov seem to be the only ones still backing Tvr other than deposit holders so respect to them.

So .gov foots the bill for the building renovation, and TVR does what exactly? Have they raised enough cash with their bonds sell off? If not, then the building means nothing?

I read it more that the WG investment money already pledged is assigned to the factory refurb and not that more funds will be forthcoming.

At least it wasn't an announcement saying all bets are off so hope remains if nothing else.
