Just spotted this, and whilst it’s not my sort of thing I think it’s one of the best PR moves the company have made yet clap

It’s definitely the best way to increase awareness amongst the yoof these days, and watching as much of the video and reading as much of the comments as I could bear it seems to have gone down well smile
Apparently from the computer game The Crew2. Probably the easiest way to view mods. Here a few shots from the guy playing around with it:

The desirability of the modification options will be a subjective point (beauty is in the eye of the beholder), but the configurator platform looks impressive.
The question I have is are some of those mods inspired by TVR's own design concepts - or are they just make believe in generic computer game space?

I like the bonnet option with the radiator heat extractor in it. Very TVR. I wonder if they also have different nose and wheel options for it?

Presumably these design options came from the TVR design team? I’m hoping it’s a way to find out what configuration options prove to be popular and made available for the production versions. Crew2 design package options for example.

That's really excellent. I have no idea about how TVR sanctioned the options are but they should really please most people.
It also gives people a decent idea of how it looks in real life and not distorted by phone cameras.
I personally like the more rearward exiting exhaust option.

Been playing computer games for ages now and still do. Will definitely get this one. The Griff just landed in The Crew 2 as a vehicle drop but only for season pass holders. Regular users will have to wait until November 7th.

Could well imagine the Griff will appear in a few other games as well over time. Assetto Corsa would be great as they seem to really focus on driving physics while The Crew 2 is more arcade/action oriented, as far as i know.

I must say I love the fins mod on top of the exhaust vents (makes me think SLR).
The wider arches mod makes me think we're getting a sneak peak at the Lemans offering. Beautiful!

Interesting no cosmetic mods shown to address the controversial 'mouth' region - but I don't mind this bit anyway. smile

It's being picked up by quite a few game-bloggers. From what i've seen in the comments and heard from watching the videos TVR still ranking among the favourites and the Griff is generally liked a lot.

Editing/modding in The Crew 2 seems to be quite cool, but less flexible than i initially thought. The game itself is your average jump/crash arcade driver, probably not worth the money. Btw, i've seen the Griff show up in one performance section with an initial power output of 550 hp ? Maybe a hint wink

While some of the mods-variants will never happen (moved exhaust position etc.), i think it indicates that there will be variability to how the car will look in the end and hopefully aftermarket will help further.

Some more shots here:

Hints of Speed 12 in the bonnet smile
Again I think the wider wheel arches have a big impact if you're looking for street presence.

Totally agree..front has looked too narrow in many photos..
Now looks fabulous with slightly wider arches (front and rear)..Does this mean we’ll get to option wider rubber..? bouncebouncebounce
I like the vents and the splitter.

It was a mistake visiting here frown

All I can say is, if there are enough of us that want these changes, there will be quality companies prepared to invest in the tooling. I know the handling and top speed will be affected, but at the end of the day, perhaps Les has taken it as far as he can and we will just have to take the last few steps ourselves.

£30-40k I reckon to get it resembling the white one (probably only need 10 like minded individuals).

Let's not be too hasty. A lot of people would probably prefer the smoother every day GT looks.

Start off with the standard car and then introduce modified models with more extreme looks and performance.

I think if you start off with the balls out looks you would put a lot of people off.

Not the best comparison as I haven't time to search for a better photograph.

Loving the purple/blue flip. But his interior choice to go with it is shocking , as is his driving.

I do prefer the more aggressive look of the white one, but that's not what you are going to get, so you may have to wait a while for a Mk 2 version. smile

The "normal" one is just fine as it is (imo), but I find the red a bit meh. Better with flip paintwork.

Les is doing a great job, not easy designing a brand new car from scratch I'm sure.

Still fancy some sort of purple but the purple/blue iridescent is great.
