Getting back to cars whistle and, specifically, Welsh built ones, here's a treat for you...

I had a golf for a while... a VR6 jobby.. it was my runabout for a couple of years... great small cruiser but wasn’t overly fond of corners...

Dunno why I mentioned that really. I mean it’s not like it’s very interesting. And let’s face it, who really cares about it.. it was a while ago too. Jeez I’m getting boring.

Think they've moved on a bit from that wink ...sounds more like a Millington, and with a seq box too ...still cheaper than a Stratos hehe

Yea the Welsh government are now progressing with the build of their factory. Will be interesting to see who ends up taking the unit. TVR presumably haven’t yet got the funding.

Still the small problems of hiring staff, factory fit out, opening a parts department, extensive groundworks, a new prototype build and test area and so on. TVR say they will take over the prototype build area in the 3rd quarter of this year which is not far off now and then can confirm the full factory fit out.
This is a big change from earlier announcements which said they would fit out the factory while renovations were ongoing - using the same Jones Bros - so taking over fully in July with customers' cars being supplied in early 2022. That does not seem at all likely now.
(and I have not mentioned money!)

If the work was for TVR they would have publicised it - to up the profile and appear less risk to potential investors in this bond issue. I would take it therefore that the Welsh Govt are doing it for other reasons than TVR.

If it wasn't sorted it would deteriorate further. I'm still a little surprised thy haven't just cleared the site.

Once it’s clad and weatherproof it’s a building that would cost many millions to build. I’ve just applied for planning on a 80 x 25m shed and that’s going to be the best part of 2m.

...Let alone that as of last week steel is now NLA courtesy of British Steel (aka the Market Of One). Nothing to do with Covid either.

Ha ha yes agreed, I was trying to be more positive. But hopefully TVR will gain a factory and start their fit out process etc in the near future.
