...presumably Cosworth are on the case..and we can all now crack on n stick one finger up in the air...
Assuming this problem will be possible to resolve, which is not at the moment.

But fortunately GM and Cosworth are there and for sure can do better as the rest of the automotive industry.

Not really. Lambda 1 engines are fully viable with stratified charge direct injection and water cooled exhaust manifolds. Power reduction is only in the order of 5 to 8 %
Well it seems that this technology isn't available at the moment and from what I understood from the summit in 2018, it needs to be a FI engine to get the Lambda 1 problem sorted.

Cool paper, thx. Just skipped over it, but will take a closer look. Main non-technical take-away: EURO 7 proposals to be posted until 2025 latest. That leaves more time than i thought.

Other than that: get your V8's now, outlook is dire.

TVR Automotive is still listed as a dormant company. TVR Manufacturing has not changed since Martin Overington was appointed a director in December.

News overdue, no argument here, but to be fair, Companies House is not a news agency.

As far as the dormancy is concerned :

... A dormant company is one that has been registered with Companies House but is not carrying on any kind of business activity or receiving any form of income. Therefore, HMRC considers it dormant (or inactive) for corporation tax purposes. It can be dormant from the date of its incorporation, or it can become dormant after a period of activity.

There are many reasons why a company may be dormant – to reserve a company name whilst preparing to launch the business; restructuring a previously active business; ....

All the target dates mentioned in the last update (Dec2018) have been missed.
No configurator or results of the survey which was back in October have been released.
No Contractor has been appointed yet, or not that it has been announced and no work on the factory has started yet. It was due to be complete and handed over to TVR in the Summer.and no news regarding the "Big News" which was supposedly getting bigger.

Is anything actively going on with cosworth? Always seemed a bit of an overplayed collaboration to me. Looking at cosworth’s website they have a list of collaborators and it doesn’t mention Tvr.

Yes I know but if Automotive's position had changed, things would be moving forward. Was just hoping for something...... wink

Mean while the wait has dragged on so long they’ve managed to bring Deloreans back to the future hahahah wtf

GM have had squads of mid engined corvettes out doing winter testing. Maybe that’s what they’re doing with the Griffith hehe

If not they’ll need to start pretty soon as that Bomb proof reliability Spag talks about won’t be forthcoming..

Remarkably similar path - promised for 2017 production, then 2018 production, now 2019 production...

It’s not going to happen chaps. As sad as that may be and despite Spag’s relentless optimism, I think the cuckoo has flown the nest.

My opinion now too I’m afraid. You don’t miss updates again and again in the face of doubt and suspicion that nothing’s happening and every update that’s actually happened is well late and is just ‘more jam tomorrow’.

My guess is the “big news” was they had a new investor come onboard or had sold the whole thing on.. but that fell over.
Just guessing, but with radio silence, what else can you do

I was excited at the news of a new TVR having been a fan since childhood and an owner for the last few years. Got tickets for the Goodwood reveal on the Friday. ( in the pouring rain ) and have followed ever since, checking this thread on an almost daily basis, but now the silence is deafening and I fear the new car will never appear. I don't understand why the prototype hasn't been put through an IVA test and road registered. I know it has been tested on a track, but that is not the same as out and about on real roads. Major manufacturers will road test for 10's of 1000's of miles before releasing the car for sale using public roads. I read somewhere that production using the iStream process could be carried out almost anywhere, so why haven't they started? I know parts supply is part of the reason, but they managed to get enough bits together to build the prototype. Come on TVR - we really want to see the new car on sale before V8 petrol engines are banned!

I wonder now if it’s more a case of returning deposits at a trickle, rather than putting out a statement that would cause a run on them needing to be returned.

Agreed with all the above. If, as now looks likely, the whole project is going to fold, why cannot Les gracefully return the remaining deposits, and get on with his other businesses..

After all, before this shambles went public, we all looked on him as a credible, purposeful, petrol-head, but now ....

They spent all the deposit money putting stickers on a LMP1 Rebellion and rubbing shoulders with Corporate Hospitality

The Tiv will never be built and the company will quietly liquidate taking all the deposits with it. Les having had a grand old time sipping Rebellion champagne around the WEC calendar.

How much was the deposit anyway? And how many did they take, anyone know?
