I would be up for a visit to Rockingham, Saturday works better for us self-employed types, it's two hours from north Essex so doable in a day, not sure about those from the deep south but they like camping.
Deep southerners do tend to be a bit camp compared to us tough northerners. Classic Chim said:
Your not the first to experience that sensation
I've spent 10k since and it's still nowhere near as fast
I'm enjoying this,,,, I've spent 10k since and it's still nowhere near as fast
So just indulge yourself in being better on the brakes,,, which you won't be as he has good brakes too
Forget being quicker through the apex as he has the suspension, anti roll bars and geo bob on
Other than that you'll be alright it's a really sorted car
Thanks for the positives guys.
It's all down to the car and 11 years of chim ownership and development!
Stiffer springs, Gaz Monos, thicker ARBs, Polybushing, tubular wishbones at the front, (probably less flexing), Leven rose jointed drop links, scooby rack, (definitely a lighter positive feel) a geo setup by Mat with increased camber and of course bigger brakes to stop!
Easy peasy,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I gave myself a good talking to this afternoon and have come to the conclusion that I should be happy with what I have, my humble little 4lt is more than a match for most standard 5lt cars so I am going back to doing the cosmetic bits that I had planned. I think an emerald could be classed as cosmetic couldn't it.

A few weekend options there.
Mallory Park looks a good one. Again not done it before. Saturday 18th. £99.00. Almost bang in the centre of England. No excuses for those 'up north' not to attend

I'll start a new thread.

Not been to Mallory before but apparently great for BMW hatchback type thingy's and also SEAC,s
You would think a 1.1 mile track with only 5 corners would be boring, or at least Michael Mouse, but it is quite an involving track. Gerard's is a tricky corner to get right, being a continuous 180 degree bend, a bit like Corams at Snetterton but more so, and overtaking is allowed on the corner. There is plenty of straight for overtaking, and the Esses and the Hairpin are both interesting. Good call. I was only suggesting Rockingham because there is no noise limit in December, and it's a circuit I have never done. Whereas I have made an impression at Mallory..........by proving that it is possible to spin at most of the corners on the circuit.

I was only joking with Mk1fan, sounds a bit like Guadix of which Mk1fan has been around I was only suggesting Rockingham because there is no noise limit in December, and it's a circuit I have never done. Not done Rockingham before so could be a goer.
Anyone else? BMW might be better suited to the December weather
Not sure there's camping for Peter.
What about a day in November?
I’m booked on Rockingham in December... gonna get a garageme thinks. Current pads are slightly squeaking so I’ll be taking the arse out of them ready for it’s january service. Oh and in December my recently added traction control will NOT be switched off! LolAnyone else? BMW might be better suited to the December weather
