The car did end up in Belgium so maybe the overseas buyers that seem to be snapping up so many of our cars are less fussed about numbers on the odo
Probably something to do with cars reading km's hitting 100k much earlier and therefore being much more of the norm on the continent. It is an odd psychological effect in the UK.So my Chim 500 is past 100K miles. But the rebuilt (by J Eales)engine has 400 miles on it. The rebuilt gear box (Readman) has also 400 miles on it. The new windscreen ( Racing Green) has about 1500 miles, Front wishbones replaced about 2000 miles, new radiator 1500 miles etc etc. (diff to be done soon)
So which part of my car has done 100K miles
I know the answer....... the chassis, but thats cheap compared with the engine.
