Cutting fibre glass
Discussion
I want to cut a slot for a new boot light but don't want to make a pigs ear of it. Best TPI on a saw blade and how do you avoid/repair frayed edges. Looking at a long flourescant 12 volt. But if the start up is too much will go for bulbs, either way holes are needed.

Not sure about the size slot you wish to make, but I've used a 4" grinding wheel to do a lot of cutting on my M series and fraying was kept to a minimum.
If you sucessfully get your cut done and its very close to finish, just apply some gel coat and sand to 600 grit or so and it'll look "factory".
For finer work I use a Dremel tool with about a 1/2 inch round stone to grind small areas.
[WEAR A MASK!!! as this stuff is nasty on the lungs]
Not sure this helps because I've never used a blade.
