I've proposed another meeting, at Chatsworth, in Derbyshire, on Sunday 26th. May, starting 12.30pm. car parking costs £1, if I remember, and you can park down by the river. There's a nice restaurant/cafe, loads of spiffing driving roads in the area, and the house itself is woth a visit. www.chatsworth-house.co.uk.

Already had some interest on other threads, but let's see a few more putting their hands up for permission to attend! Bring food, wine, and portable barbie!!

If the date's wrong, would you prefer another date? It's open for suggestions.

O.K. I've checked on the 9th. June (Sunday). There are no major events at Chatsworth, and Ted's calendar says the Tuscan challenge is at Spa.

Powertour doesn't appear to have an event that weekend. There's an Elvington event the day before, but not under TVRCC/Pistonheads banner.

There doesn't seem to be any national TVRCC events, although there may be some regional ones. So, shall we say 9th. June?

9th. June it is, then. Get it in your diaries!!

Ted, you'd better amend your calendar of events. Are you coming too, I know it's a long way, but sheesh, it's all your fault!!

Macca, can you make it?

Dont drive through Matlock on the way there - whenever I have driven a TVR to Matlock I have had loads of abuse from local youths! Go in a Vauxhall with wide wheels instead and wheel spin at every junction.

That's unusual - Matlock is the place where any Northern biker worth his ready rub goes for a Sunday jolly. Bikers love TVR's, and they'd love to see a convoy, or even 2 or 3, rumbling through. It's worth passing through just to see the number of bikes you can cram into one little town!!

= it could just start out as finding a nice little place to have Sunday lunch in Derbyshire, and then "oh look at all those TVRs over there, mind if we just have a quick look..."

Serious brownie points could be earned on the day by having lunch at either Hassop Hall, or Haddon Hall - the former has an entrance flanked by high stone walls on which they mount burning torchs at night - mmmm, very romantic - and "oops, what are all those noisy cars over there", or, "how about finishing off a lovely day with a visit to Chatsworth?" Sorted.

Best to get off at J29, M1, as Chatsworth is signed through Chesterfield :- www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=425000&Y=375000&zoom=5

Try not to get lost in the town centre, and check out the twisted church spire...

If you can get a convoy together, I can get hold of a digital video camera, and I could video the convoy from a bridge over the A617 into Chesterfield. It's a fast open dual carriageway, and you could fill both lanes and give it some under the bridge. It would be easy to co-ordinate via mobile phone, then I'll join you for the rest of the journey.

I've e-mailed some of the RO's of the TVRCC, and so there should be some more interest from that side. Let's just hope for good weather.

I did speak to the events manager, and said about 50 rather noisy cars might be popping in for the afternoon! She seemed fairly unphased by the whole thing!

I've also had contact from Cambridgeshire TVRCC, so there's quite a few people coming!!

Any more thoughts on convoys etc, chaps?

Here's an alternative map :-www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=425000&Y=375000&zoom=5

I suggested 12:30 as a start time, but it is only a start time - there is no compulsory turnstile, but the more time for getting together, the better. It seems like there's going to be a helluva lot of cars to look at, and people to meet! Get there when you can, basically. Bring a portable barbie, or a picnic, or whatever. The Chatsworth farm shop has loads of meat, venison, bacon sausages etc.

Ted, bring some merchandise, I'm sure you'll sell the lot!

I thought I'd revive this thread just to remind any newcomers that it's happening. The 3rd. Pistonheads meet, at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, on Sunday 9th. June, commencing about 12.30pm. 59 PH'ers have so far registered their intent to be there. Should be a cracking day! Merchandise will be available courtesy of our very own Uncle Ted!

It's probably time to start finalising your convoy details, where to meet up etc. South Yorkshire boys, where are we meeting? How about J31 roundabout off the M1 - there's a nice big layby, and a little road just off the main A57, where we can all wait. We can go through Swallownest, up towards Crystal Peaks, then into Sheffield, and up to Owler Bar. Any thoughts?

I did speak to the events organiser at Chatsworth, and she said no problemo. I thought about asking for a roped off area. Perhaps I'd better give her another ring...

CleG - gb61390 is coming down from York on Sunday morning, and I'd be quite happy to head down to Chesterfield, but the Owler Bar way is usually less crowded. If we meet at J31 at say 11.00 - 11.15, that should give us time to pootle down Chesterfield way, even going via South Sheffield, down to pick up Andymadmak somewhere along the way?

Incidentally, CleG, nice work on Jools' website. Can I pick your brains on website design? I want to do one for my surgery, using Dreamweaver, but I'm a strict amateur (no html etc) and I'd appreciate some advice. If there's a fee involved, let me know!

OK, Ive just spoken to John Oliver, events organiser at Chatsworth, and he feels there should be no problem. We may be able to park in front of the stables, trhe beautiful building just next to the main house, but he's going to speak to the Duchess, as she doesn't like the view being spoiled for other visitors.

It's £1 per car, pay as you arrive. Might I suggest everyone get a small Union jack and stick it onto your car. I have to write a letter to confirm arrangements, so I will say in it that our cars should have Union jacks flying. That should please the Duchess!

Chesterfield lads - shall we meet up with you at Owler Bar roundabout up the hill from Sheffield? About 11.45-12.00? Isn't there a pub or restaurant up there with a car park we could wait in?

Ted, in my letter I've suggested I make a few signs, to direct people to the relevant area - might be useful if you happen to stone deaf! Could you send me 3 large Pistonheads banners, or something like that, that I can attach to some boards, please? I promise to return them on the day!

|I was thinking more of a little plastic or paper flag, like just about every shop in the country is selling for the jubilee. Stick it to your numberplate or in the corner of your windscren!

OK, S. Yorks team - is it agreed that we'll meet at11.00am, at J31 roundabout? Chesterfield boys, see you at Owler Bar around 11.30 or so. All those in favour, say "Aye!"

I've crashed my website! It's been removed for some error - maybe the Pistonheads banner I put into the centre of the Union flag, has been coded as an advert - is that possible to detect automatically? Anyway, that was my idea - Ted, can you fix one up for downloading and printing?

Err, can you see it now?

Is there anywhere on PistonHeads with infor about this event? or could someone recap so I can avoid going through the painful process of reading all of the post in this thread.

Blackmonday, it's an informal meet, at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, on Sunday, 9th. June, starting at 12:30. It will be a static meet i.e. no racing about, and there's people coming up from all over, including plenty from Surrey/London etc. (even PetrolTed himself!). Bring some wine, beer, portable barbie, food etc. and have a ball! It might be worth getting a group of owners together for a convoy up the M1. So far, roughly 60 PHers have signed up, and I imagine more will be coming who haven't put it in their PH diaries. Get your nice Tuscan "oop north!"
