I can't believe these tyres get such high reviews. Utter garbage. In the dry they're adequate at best but not very progressive and understeer, tramlining and instability over white lines and cats eyes are the order of the day. In the wet? Hideous (actually, dangerous). I drive a Mini Cooper SD and I can't believe how bad these are. They'll be getting thrown in the bin soon where they belong. The only positive to these is that in 9k miles they don't look like they've worn - probably due to the lack of grip they offer. Honestly, £40 Arrowspeed very budget tyres are better.

Exactly the kind of review I'd expect to be honest.

The issue with the OP was he was quite clearly trying to raise the profile of the tyres.
Probably wanted to trade off sharper steering for comfort.

From a quick browse of the thread all I saw was a mob trying to break down the OP until he admitted that the tyres were crap, which has gone on for 35 pages and seems to have got nowhere. biglaugh

I put myself forward to be the next recipent of passive aggressive/smarmy replies. biggrin

I think if you want to keep your job, I would delete your post. It took me 5 minutes to find you..

I have fitted some for customers and driven cars with them fitted often.

They are not terrible at all, surprisingly, they balance up very well, much better than some, sidewalls are stiffer than Michelins but softer than Uniroyals, several tread patterns all seem unique rather than rip offs of old tech premiums.

They seem quiet and stop well in wet conditions, they seem to cause less understeer than my Bridgestones which is a tad annoying!

Best tyre I have worked with though were Uniroyal Rainsport 2 brillinat tyre. the rainsport 3's are dissapointing.

I think to be fair he should be allowed to delete his post, he is young and probably doesn't realise slagging off your employer might end up without a job.

You could probably pay another £25 per tyre and get something like hankook or Khumo, which seem to be decent?

just for piece of mind if your unsure?

But then nothing ventured nothing gained.

Reap what you sow!

I'm inclined to think he does not work for Oak Tyres though.

But that would mean that someone would be lying on the internet, and as everyone knows, everything on the internet is true.

You've been a member of this forum for 3.5 years. You've made 31 posts in total, with 29 in this thread.

It does seem hugely strange that someone that has barely had any activity on the forum suddenly becomes very active about fitting tyres. There's hundreds of brands of tyres, with names popping up all the time, and changing tyres is a common job for car users.

Why these tyres have stirred you up so much makes little sense. Even when you've been actively posting in this thread, you've still not posted in any other thread when on.

I'm sure most people are reading this and thinking you've got a motive as your behaviour isn't normal.
Just because I have not posted doesn't mean I have a part in or work for Davanti does it!.

All my past cars was nothing to talk about but now I do have a car worth talking about and care about I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread on PH. I have been a member on various other forums that would make your post count look low so I would be more happier if you keep your speculation to yourself or refrain posting on my thread.

I would not think posting on a car forum in regards to a brand of tyre would be abnormal behaviour more so abnormal is your above post which is nothing to do with tyres and is just about trying to convince yourself is a matter of fact.

Please no need to reply as your posts bore me and probably many more members.

AGAIN just for you I have no connections with Davanti nor work own have any shares in the company and my initial post was a genuine enquiry.
And unsurprisingly no more posts from this shill since February time.

Irrespective of their product any brand that puts out "post truth" style news and conducts such a shabby and obvious attempt to stage manage a thread is not a brand that feels confident letting its product speak for itself in my view. A look back over this thread makes for some interesting observations in hindsight, the tyre engineer saying they are being put forward for magazine reviews etc back in February is one. I guess I must have missed the write ups

That's a bit of a leap. IIRC my only ever argument on this thread was about the futility of discussing something with someone who has a closed mindset.

TonyTony above seems to have your number though. wink

Sorry to bring this back up but is there any more details about these tyres? I read a bit of the thread and it just seems to be unhelpful arguments. laugh

Just interested if anybody has properly tested them, Awesome GTI stock them now and said they have had good feedback but around £65 a corner seems too cheap.

Currently have Kumho's on the front and they have non existent wet grip and not brilliant dry corner grip.
This TonyTony who revised a several months old thread asking for a view on these tyres having negatively commented on another brand and then when people say other than they perform like class leaders and cure cancer for those who drive with them on claims people are passive aggressive? I'll live with that
