Offside front tyre is wider and quite out than the arches
Discussion
I had a golf mk5 2006 and is lowered on coilovers. The issue i m having is my offside front tyre is hitting the arche whenever I go over speed bump or normal humps on the road and is only that offside tyre hitting the arche the rest are fine, I did wheel alignment with Kwik fit but no help they told me I hd to take it for digital alignment or something I don't know what they said, I had checked and there is no spacer installed and the offset of the wheel is fine as well....any help will be appreciated as I really don't want to put the car back on standard suspension again
I can't see how wheel alignment would cause the wheel to rub against the arch but I'm sure Kwikfit will be glad to take your money. It's probably what Andyily said, driver only so more weight on the offside. If you want both front wheels to rub evenly put about 80kg of spuds in the passenger seat.
Even if I had passenger in passenger seat(twice my size) it's still hit the offside arch, the problem is when I looked at the tyres on both sides the offside tyre is way out like there is spacer installed on it, if u stand in front of the car u can clearly see the difference , I think it might be something to do with sub frame or chasis
Leo, it's not difficult, get it jacked up and have a play yourself. Wind on a couple of cm. and see if it makes a difference. And if you've never done it, get it jacked up and ten come back here and ask. If you help yourself there's plenty of people here who will offer (virtual) assistance.
