Mobility/Kart tyre help
Discussion
Im planning on converting a mobility scooter into a electric kart for my son, one of the things i would like to do is change the current tyres but having some difficulty understanding how the sizes work.
Currently the mobility scooter has 3.00-4 on the front and the rears are 3.00-4(10x3). The wheels are split rim and they have a small rectangular piece of metal between the hub and the wheel, which i presume acts as a key.
I want to go bigger and wider if possible but struggling to understand what sizes will work with the current rim.I presume with the current rim i would not be able to get anything wider and would need to stick with something that has a 4 inch rim diameter and 3 inch wide.
My thinking was if i can get a bigger tyre it would give a bit more ground clearance and might also make it a bit quicker??
