Merc E250 2014 plate

got a drone from the front which gets a bit louder on braking, garage tightened the bearings up a bit but they didnt feel good to me and its still there, heres the rub..

Local merc indie wants £300 to supply/fit/labour/vat one bearing

Merc will supply me a hub c/w bearing for £197 inc vat

I can buy the SKF front bearings for £35 (inner and outer)

(all above for one side)

do i need a 10 tonne press to push the bearings out and in?

(they are taper bearings, its just the cup the race runs in that needs knocking/pressing out)

I got me a plan...

ill buy 1 hub/bearings £197

change what i think is the baddest side, if i need to do the other side ill have a spare hub and can fit a pair of bearings £50

So under £250 instead of £600 (if i graze a few knuckles so what)

i can clean up the pads and discs at no extra cost too...

suspected "sawtoothing".........got told i was lucky to get 11,000 miles out of budgets
