Standard new disks and pads

Quick question
Just had new disks and pads fitted to the Mundano. (All standard Ford bits)
Do they need beding in? If so how?
What's the down side to not doing it?

Dead on the money! My last set of disks wern't beded in and started to judder (after 20Kish)with moderate breaking pressure at high speed.
