Try putting rain x on the wiper blade too

I won't use rain x because they sponsor BRAKE
Do they still do that? I can't see them listed: http://www.brake.org.uk/top-level/2-about-us/10-br...

Try the product on the wipers as others have said.

Otherwise remove it and just keep the screen clean and wipers clean. I use a similar product on my side windows and mirrors but never use it on the windscreen, I had the same experience.

I found it gave a star effect to street lights also which I didn't like.

I wouldn't use them either, purely because of the BRAKE thing.

Sponsoring a virulently anti-car organisation is fine. Expecting that to go down well with car focused communities goes as well as one might expect.

Thanks for the help, just had a drive in light showers, rain beaded off quickly, at low speeds I did need to use the wipers and unfortunately, they did judder. But I rarely find my self going 10-20mph in rain for a long time. One thing I noticed, they only judder when the windshield has water on it if its dry it just leaves that haze for about a second. I haven't driven at night yet with the rain-x but if I do find it too distracting I'll definitely get rid of it.

Good luck with that! One car that I bought had just been treated and it caused massive fogging and starburst problems at night. After three years of using every potion known to man on the screen to clean it off, I could not get rid of the problem. I seriously thought about replacing the screen at one point.

Lol, yes this. You're stuck with it, not even paint thinners brings it off.
Coating the wiper blades is interesting as i've usually found that changing them for new ones after a year or two of putting up with it has solved the screech and judder problem.

In the years since last posts above, has anyone found anyway to remove rain x?!

Got a new (used) vehicle that has it or similar on. It’s very hard to see through the blurring at night and on cold mornings it seems difficult to clear the moisture.

Tried a clay bar, Autoglym glass cleaner and a turtle wax glass cleaner. Also how sensitive is windscreen glass?! I’m thinking kitchen scour?

White spirit removes it.

Autoglym glass polish. Or IPA?

None of the above will remove it. It actually needs to be something abrasive to take it off.

You can buy cerium oxide from eBay for a couple of quid. Mix a little bit of it with a small amount of water to form a paste and apply it using something like scotchbrite or a wash sponge and you’ll feel it cutting through the coating. Don’t worry, it won’t scratch the screen. Rinse with a hose to remove the paste and voila - clean screen.

Ok, ordered one of these.

Other things, Autogylm fast glass and polish don’t do anything and white spirit did nothing by make my hands stink like fire lighters!

Why did you clay bar after applying the product?

I didn’t, I took a clay bar to remove the product someone else has at some point correctly/badly applied before I bought the vehicle!
