......to add to that i totaled at least 20k of equipment for machine corection and detailing , without materials for the job .

So is paint correction really the crucial component of any detailing/valeting/cleaning. i.e if you have not paint corrected, the rest is not of much value? Kelly

Paint correction is really the upper tier of detailing, after paint enhancement.
Effectively you have from the top of the tree in what you can do to paint, to the least you can do... (excludes protection stage)
- Respray
- Detailing, Paint Renovation (Wet Sanding + Machine)
- Detailing, Paint Correction (Machine)
- Detailing, Paint Enhancement (Machine)
- Detailing, Claying, hand polishing
- Valeting, Hand polishing
- Valeting, Wash and cleanse
- Washing

Ed
Ed , my back ground covers far more than just paintwork , but keeping this on subject of detailing and paint learnt what i know today by repairing and painting all sorts of cars while at my fathers accident and repair bodyshop , this is from near on 20 years ago now , some of my own cars from a long time ago Ed

Sun Guns?? whats that? or did you mean stun guns lol
Ed
As you have said the person that worked at your paintshop knows sweet FA and now charges alot of money to run a mop over a car , I would guess that you would know that a 3M sun gun is used as a light source designed to show colour match or should i say differences in colours and shades while repainting vehicles to make sure the car leaves the correct colour . Ed
Detailers use the same light due to it shows up flaws aswell as marring and holigrams from machine correction stages , with the use of a 3M sun gun and site lights and led lights you can quickly check the paint is flawless after machine correction , and this will stop any surprises when the car is viewed in direct bright sun light

There is always room for cleaning and valeting - indeed basic cleaning of a car is the simplest way to get it shiny for little money and effort. The base coat can't shine through perfect clearcoat if the clear is an inch deep in mud

i was trying to write that the most important stage for me is machine correction , and can not replaced if you want the best possible finish , trying to achieve the best finish without it is not going to work for me really .
even thou i now offer packages without machine correction to cater for all the customers who want something a bit more towards their budget , so i guess thinking about it i best remove the quote that KDS does not use products with fillers and glazing oils as i do now , this was true when i only carried out full machine correction .
All down to peoples expectations , many would be happy with part correction for a lot less money than full for 2-3 times as much when its a car used everyday and left in all weathers , thats the secret to getting the right package for the right car and customer
