Advice on dent on my car (with pictures)

Hi all,

I have joined the forum in order to get some advice on some damage to my car.

Bearing in mind, I am a girl so I know nothing about car bodywork repairs!!

I have spoken to a few places about repairing the dent (please see picture attached) and the method seems to be, putting pins in it to pull out the dent and then using filler to get the shape.

Would you say that this is the best method? A few friends I have spoken to have said that I should have it panel beaten rather than using filler but the garages I have spoken to have said most places would use filler.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I am starting from zero knowledge haha!!

Equally, any recommendations for a good bodywork repairer to take it to in the Kent / SE London area would also be appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

It's a lot clearer and now I know thats the standard method, I will be a lot happier putting the car in to have it done.

I will just make sure I ask how much filler they intend to use!
