The paint on my car's roof has faded badly and seems to have turned to dust.
I'm aware that at some point the car will need remedial bodywork and a full respray but it won't be for a while. Is anyone able to suggest a temporary (and relatively cheap) solution? I'm not looking for perfection but would like it to look presentable. Would just having the roof painted be worthwhile?

It looks like the last time it had a very poor job done on the roof (and tail gate?). If I were you I wouldn't bother about getting just the roof done cheaply again - in fact you probably won't be able to get it done cheaply as all the other cr@p will have to taken off first to give any new stuff the chance of actually staying on.
I'd save the pennies and put it towards getting the whole lot done properly.
(Or go for the rat look!)
Yes, the top of the tailgate has gone too (the bits at the base of the rear window are sticky stuff rather than paint). Not sure about whether or not it's ever been done before - if so the work precedes my ownership. The car has been standing for seven years and is being put back on the road at the moment. I'd save the pennies and put it towards getting the whole lot done properly.

Bugger. I really wanted to avoid the rat look.
