Replacing car doors - tips and advice needed!
Discussion
Hi,
I have found a replacement door for the cheapy Peugeot 206 which I have just bolted up.
No matter what I do I can't get it to line up on the car properly. I've tried shutting the car door with everything loose - the door lines up perfectly (well good enough!).
I then tighten up the hinges (via the inner wheel arch) still with the door shut and when the hinge pinches up tight the door raises up out of alignment. I've tried putting shims in the top edge of the door but this result in the top of the door being pushed out.
Is there a magic technique I should be using for this? Any tips gratefully received. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
