What have others used they could recommend to keep a black car looking good?
The car is a 2006 Golf in solid black, I've just had it back from a light detail so most scratches and major swirling have been removed.
I've seen some poor boys products on offer at my local factors, was thinking of trying them out and trying to keep the same brand for everything.
I like a clean car but am not too fussy, I'd prefer a one step polish/wax rather than a separate polish then wax etc.
Thanks in advance.

When you say "light detail" - How far was it taken? Did your detailer give you any recommendations?
If it's been machine polished and a good layer of protection applied, all you'll need to do is keep on top of washing it safely for a good while.
A good pre-wash.
Thorough rinse.
Two bucket method wash.
Rinse the car with an open hose.
Then pat dry the last bits of standing water.

As far as products go, you can use anything you like.
Poorboy's Super Slick and Suds is a nice shampoo.
Their QD+ is good for a final wipe down to remove water marks and things.
A quality microfiber drying towel will help a lot in keeping swirls at bay. The Auto Finesse Aqua Deluxe hmgets my vote.
Car was clayed/machine polished/waxed. I had a few recommendations such as collinite 476 but I saw the poor boys products locally and they were reasonably priced.
Thanks all for the input so far.
