AFL - 9 1/2hrs coverage? WTF?

I appreciate AFL, i'm not a fan but its a sport and I get that theres not much else here to be nationally involved in but Channel 7 is showing 9 1/2 hours coverage today of the Grand Final and build up. 9.5 hours. Nine and a half hours. What the f
king fk?! All day. WTF?!
What the fk are they going to talk about for 9.5hours (game itself). They already show it on the news every night for as long as the actual news is discussed and all they talk about then is build up, Jimmy McMuscles might be injured, he might not then they interview some random who isnt actually injured but hey, got to pad out the 'news' each night with non stories. And whats worse is that every channel covers the same story at the same time each night so if you go from 7 to 9 to 10 you get the same interview at the same time. Every night. Then you have the AFL footy shows 3-5 times a week saying the same old st before game day. All ongoing since March or whenever the season starts.
In the UK i appreciate a bit of football (not called fking soccer) but I dont need hours every night of it and even on FA Cup final day it wasnt 9.5 hours continuous coverage with inane fkwits saying the same old st over and over again. And lets not get started on every bodys name being a nickname or shortened with an I or a Y on the end. fk me.
I've been to quite a few AFL games through work which I priviliged to do but the atmosphere is weird - no songs, chants, passion - just lots of 'come on eagles' and 'come on dockers'. Am sure over east its different but still when people say to you they'd rather watch it on TV than live so you can see better there must be something wrong with it.
Anyway, yes I can and will watch/do something else but 9.5hours - WTF?!
