MGB Sebring Turbo - Pic Heavy
Discussion
been working on this for 3-4 years, those of you who use mgrover.org or rovertech will have seen it before
This is my MGB GT T16 Turbo conversion. I have done alot of work so far but still have even more to do on it.
Debumpering and sebring kit going on
CarPC going in with 7" touchscreen in the dash
SQ sound system being fitted - already bought DLS A5 Amp and 2 x 6" CDT HD Subs
Seperate turbo cooling system being fitted - see pic of small copper rad
17" Vitesse Alloys - still need to be spaced out more
bucket seats, harnesses etc. etc.
all comments / suggestions welcomed

crossmember modded and strengthened - finishing it tomorrow morning
I offered the steering rack into place to check crank pulley clearance - it's close - but got about 10mm of space so no worries there
I'm running a remote oil filter housing so i made sure I had clearance around the oil pump filter housing to fit the oil cooler adapter plate - running a 13 row MOCAL oil cooler front mounted as you can see in the pics

Always liked the Sebring look. Slightly confused though, why the metalwork to the rear arches if you're going to graft on a fibreglass arch?
The 17" wheels wouldn't fit the standard arches.I wanted to retain strength in the body's rear end.
The lip of the fibreglass arch is now supported by the extended arch reducing any possible flex/cracking.

yes it is. it's mated to an LT77 5spd gearbox from an SD1
Good stuff. What's the plan on the power output department? (apologies if I've missed this elsewhere) From what I remember, the T-Series turbo is a tough one. The only friends had in the past were with FWD driveshafts (which obviously you don't have )plan on the power output is use the stnadard lump that's fitted atm. I've got a spare bottom end that (when I have the funds) I'll strip and rebuild with new forged pistons and H beam rods for 9krpm and upto 500BHP. Have to find a ported and polished head, I have a T3 manifold so just need to find a big turbo

So std, thats around 200bhp?? The 500bhp sounds to be honest, brilliant but bonkers in an MGB!!!! Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
