Speaking of F1:
Closer look at a DFV.
Closer look at the Tyrrell Matra MS80: only 2 were built!
W: "Jackie Stewart in a 2006 issue of the British Motor Sport magazine referred to it as the nicest-handling F1 car he had ever driven."
Awesome sounding Cossie in there.
Jackie Stewart won the title in this 420 brake car.
W: "The MS80 was one of the first F1 racing cars to be designed with "wings" for downforce to increase high-speed tyre grip. These were originally introduced into F1 in 1968."
Maydon / Hadfield lapped 2:33 and finished 13th, retiring with 3 laps to go.
2008 winner Rossi De Montelera in the awesome Martini-liveried BT41. 2nd this year.
Smith in the Surtees TS32. Pitlane became dangerous with all these fierce creatures buzzing around.
More.

More Matra MS80:
Signed!
Nice snap by Ralf.
Work done.
This is eh . . .
. . . right: the Alan Jones Saudia Tag car.
Or is it the Reuteman car? can't remember.
Winning March 761.
Three more F1.

Interview with Alexander Davidis: the Artistic Genius Behind "GT Racer"
On with the show:
Legendary stuff.
Old skool F1 looks and sounds the nuts. It's all there to touch and smell, ask questions and you'll get overloads of fine stories.
Drivers are 50+ and lap Spa well under 2:30!
Pre-war stuff:
Daily driver!
"Jump in and drive off sir." Eh?
Martin Overington in his 35B with a third place and a best 3:31 secs. And eh . . . the Bent is his.

Last bit of the Jags then - most Jags were published months ago.
The master mech at speed, or is it a hired driver Ken?
Secretly I find this way cooler than a Cobra . . .
I never cared much for Healeys but since Spa6 2006 I absolutely adore those - often Welch engined - stunners. About 265 brake on tap and 3:05 sec laptimes if you're 'vealey good'. Brit beef to da max this!
Jelly, please tell us about this V8 TVR?
I could not believe I've had a brief 20 mins chat with this guy.
Next: the Yank section of my garage.

Yanks, you gotta love the rudeness, the brutal sounds and the way they move across the tarmac:
Global warning! This 427 created a hole in the ozon layer . . . just ticking over.
No match for this stunning orchestra in a C2 Corvette.
Speaking of which: a Chodosh monster.
Stunning C2 roared like a wild beast!
More Yanks.

Yeah, but racing them is a completely other matter:
Speaking of Cobras, here's one - a real one! - with a body.
I wonder what Hadfield is thinking here. Maybe: "Why on earths name did I choose a GT40 to race the 6 hours race when I could be comfy in a family hack like this one?"
One of the Alan Mann Racing Team entries, with Jackie Oliver and John Young scribbled on it.
327 Cid with a nice Weber factory on top, belonging to . . .
. . . this Strada 5300 Bizzarrini. Under 40" BTW.
There's more Yank stuff.

Tell me how it is possible for a Ford GT to lap Spa in under 2:50 in the 6 hours race and with a 289 / 302 according to FIA specs?
The GT40 have different fia engine spec to the other 289 cars as they were a few years later, i.e. right on the 65 cutoff date when they had much better heads (Weslake) that the other 289 cars can't run. They have steam rollers tyres and they are out and out races cars rather than road cars devloped into racers ala the Cobras and TVR's, etc.
