My friend's dad had one in a kind of Harvest Gold colour (except that's a BL colour) - not sure what the Rootes equivalent was. A Californian I'm sure ...

As usual with these things, I'm straight on to ebay for a browse, and here's one with EIGHTY TWO miles from new - and unregistered.

Either complete bks or incredible - one of the two ...

Saw this old girl in Kirkby Lonsdale today.
Nice to see her being used.

Even after all these years, a DS still looks futuristic

Future classic perhaps...? My mate nipped round with his newly acquired seventeen year old Rover 75 this afternoon, he part ex'd an 02 plate BMW estate and £500 for it, apparently it was a dealer demo when new hence the unusual black & black ext / int combo... 117k miles, barely a mark on it anywhere, everything works, it's a 2.0 diesel auto and goes really well...

IIRC they used them in one of the Back to the Future films in a sequence set in the future.

Let me know if that didn't make sense.

Still a great looking car, I have one in possibly the worst colour to show off it's curves, Silver

BTTF II - used them as (flying) taxis.

This is likely to be a 914/6 with a GT kit. The factory produced 59 race spec GT cars in 1970 with an upgraded 220ps engine, plexiglass windows and flared arches - the body kit was available as a period dealer fit extra. Sadly I didn't get the reg - anyone know anything about it?

A couple in Devizes this afternoon.

Immaculate looking Hilman Imp Chamois Coupe:
If it's a Chamois it'll be a Singer rather than a Hillman. The Hillman was called a Californian.

ETA There was also a Sunbeam Stiletto which looked very similar.

Ah, ok, I'm not well educated in these particular cars.
The badge on the rear said Chamois Coupe, so a Singer it is then.

Really? - Kinda stands out a bit in modern traffic!

Now a modern Toyota Corolla, that's the ideal car for a bank job:

Police Officer: "Can you describe the getaway car?"
Witness: "Not really, it was, well, just a car really. It looked Japanese if that helps"

hehe

+1 yes

The chrome trim running along the rear wing is a dead give away.
