They sold those to civvies too, as most of the ussr didn't have surfaced roads off the main drag..

Indeed. After I’d posted that, I did some research and its possible to buy a new one in the UK with sidecar on the left.

My brother has the KMZ version, it's only only one wheel drive though.

It sits under a tarpaulin in the garden.

Herald not taxed since 1995 … obviously been stored undercover well - bet it’s not happy being outside currently!

Spotted this E30 in a field near to the Airbnb we were staying at in California - don’t think this ever make it back on the road again

It's an E21 rather than an E30. Big shame though, E21s look awesome. There's quite a few left to die in the UK too, sadly.

Even in this state it still looks better than the current crop of ugly, buck-toothed BMWs

Herald 12/50. Olive with Cactus upholstery. Factory fit sunroof and a facelift grille exclusive to the model.

Dear oh dear. Owners’ club standards are really slipping, if they think that’s show quality.

If so, that's a real shame!

I thought the one in the background was a Lotus or similar at first glance - now I see it is indeed another Opel - but in far worse condition sadly.

I'm not even sure if the one in the foreground is saveable.
