1970 Plum Crazy Dodge Challenger R/TSE 383 Magnum. Loaded with options. It sat here from 1980 until 2020…..
I might have imagined it but sure I saw somewhere that it was destined to be saved after appearing on eBay

Looks like it's snapped in half!

Imagine the excitement and joy someone felt buying that new, and the fortune that befell or was taken from them for it to end up there, in that state.

Maybe not as classic as some but a rare sight, especially with Max Power paint, it's been at the garage for years.

For those of us whose car knowledge only goes up to 1951 - what is it?

Sorry, I thought part of thd fun might be the guessing but as above it's a Celica Cabriolet, probably around 1991 vintage, but with a different paint job and aftermarket wheels.

Don't believe him. I know he knows about some cars as recent as 1967.

I think this probably qualifies - definitely a "yesterday's hero". Been parked up where it is for was long as I can remember, definitely at least 30 years and probably longer. Back then it was still red! It's odd, it's just been left there to slowly fall apart, which it's managing quite well all on it's own. It's on the front lawn of a private house.

I tell you, if it doesn’t have a starting handle and crossply tyres I’m stumped.

Do you consider self-cancelling indicators:

A The work of the Devil?
B A figment of an advertising executive's drug-riddled mind?

Not physically spotted but whilst browsing the back roads on streetview this caught my eye.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/Zc3vvkM61i4FYkYe8?g_st=ig

Reminded me of around twenty years ago when on holiday and I'd spotted an aging 2CV van in a field, a faded "a vendre" note in the window. It was next to the site we were staying at. Got speaking with the owner and he was keen to give it a run, within 15 minutes he'd put a battery on it, air in the one flat tyre and we were going up and down the farmyard. Nicely patinated, a bit of surface rust but solid floors, etc.

I spent the majority of the holiday trying to think of how I could buy it and get it back to the UK. Thoughts of driving it back and leaving the wife and kids to fly back next to my empty plane seat were met with a death stare.

They just don't get it do they? I had a similar reaction at a campsite in Dorset a couple of years ago, this time for one of those Suzuki Jeeplet thingies with the humping rhinos on the spare wheel cover, as was the mode in the 1980s. I didn't know I wanted one before, but it suddenly became the most desirable object in the world. Standard reactions are either "where would you put it?" or "which one are you going to sell then?" to which she knows I have no effective answer. Still cloud9
