You’re right! I wondered where it was and I’ve just Googled it, which came up with this colour version dated 1963

It was my late father who crashed in the film. "Not seriously injured" wasn't quite true as he broke his neck! I now have the chassis and will get round to building it up one day
I didn't realise that your dad raced anything other than the Sphinx Allard and the C-type Jag. I think I heard 4-litre Mercury from the commentary so presumably this was a special powered by same. (I believe that the guy who bought your dad's old Commer Superpoise found the job bigger than he had anticipated! I don't think it's finished still, even allowing for the pandemic lockdown which I assume gave restorers more spare time.)

A thirteen year old Mk1 Mini gets a makeover in 1977...

Is that you?
No, I tried growing a beard once and it was rubbish... hehe

Two from Dundee - both of these Mk2 Minis look like 850s to me (the short badge on the lower right of the bootlids suggests it), both are much rarer than the Coopers of the period...

Could national frugality have made Mk2 850s more popular in Scotland ?

I was at that meeting and remember seeing Cowell. The thing that stands out to me were her large mascline hands.
I believe she was driving an Emeryson

Indeed. I don't think Paul Emery owned an Alta, although he had an Alta engine which he bored -out to suit F1 engine rules. I believe that's the Emeryson F1 car of 1956 with either an Alta or Jaguar engine. Pedantry matters,

Being of ever so slightly Scottish descent on my Dad's side I couldn't possibly comment... whistle

Could be, can't quite tell if the upper door frame has the stainless steel trim that all Mk1 and Mk2 Cooper models had, but then lots of owners painted the roof of their 850s in contrasting colours.

A comment from a passer by on my monotone purple Mk2 Cooper S at Stanford Hall a few years ago - ''can't be a Cooper mate cuz it ain't got a white roof''.

Righto!

ROBERTA COWELL GETS READY FOR CAR-RACE COMEBACK. May 4, 1972. Silverstone, Northants, Thursday, PA: Roberta Cowell, the wartime fighter pilot who re-registered as a woman in 1951, is pictured to-day at the Silverstone circuit, where she was practicing in preparation for a comeback to motor racing. She took a Kitchmac racing car on the track. Miss Cowell (formerly Robert Cowell) is now 53.

I'm note sure Roberta Cowell ever raced at Goodwood (she concentrated on hillclimbs and sprints, just like Patsy Burt) but I've always thought it would be fun to attend the Revival dressed as Roberta. On the other hand, I have an odd sense of humour. And as Allan Lupton pointed out, we're not supposed to take these things lightly any more.

It must have been so difficult for her back in the early 50s - took some guts.

Sad and lonely ending though.
Worse for the two young daughters 'she' refused to have any further contact with after the change.

Just realised, Cowell was a partner with Gordon Watson at Leacroft Engineering and Watson raced an Alta. Could this be it?
We Lea-Francis folk think of this sports-car as our contact with Cowell & Watson as they built it (and at least one other). Unsubstantiated rumour is that it was styled by D.S. Jenkinson but I can't say he ever mentioned it.

Before towns were blighted by yellow lines. Must be an aesthetic way of controlling parking.
