I think they did white Rs3100? I tried to buy one in the late 80's, it was for sale in the local courier for £750, scruffy but with valid mot and tax and ducktail spoiler and quad headlamps - didnt buy that one, another one to add to the list of might have beens!
They did. I believe that something like 59 were diamond white ( the highest colour number ) aeropilot said:

They did. I believe that something like 59 were diamond white ( the highest colour number ) If Diamond White was indeed the most numerous of the 247 made, then they seem to have suffered a proportionally higher loss rate among the surviving cars.
50 were said to have gone to OZ, but the OZ group doesn’t appear to have many white cars in it.
Wondering now if that figure the guy stated for white cars is correct ??
Chamonix white was one of the U.K. 500 3.0CSL colours, but it was not the most numerous, with 112 being Fjord Blau. I think 48 were Chamonix white.
There was a white resto project RS on flea bay a few months ago, it looked to be originally white and didn’t seem to be a “ known car “ the advert then disappeared ?

How's the yellow US 2.8 Mk1 coming along ?
We have now definitely confirmed, that it’s an RS3100. Original white one. No photos atm. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

The Yellow 2800GT has sadly gone and is currently being built into a racer.
Still collecting panels for the Lauda / Bill Stone FordSports Day 3000E. Film of the race is now on You Tube. Purely by accident, a lovely chap contacted us, to say that he was there that day and had footage !
It’s the Only know surviving film, incredible time those 32 drivers had, thrashing those brand new 3 Litre Es !

Interesting Motor Sport test of a Weslake tuned early car.
Sadly no trace of this car.
I’ve not heard of WATS before, article says that they were a Ford Main agents.
There are two modified cars in their advert in Motor Sport, but it’s anyone’s guess as to how many were converted.
This early car, suffered from the awful Zodiac gear box ratios, that Ford lumbered the pre Sept 71 3 Litre cars with.

My friend bought in around 1980. It was black with red and green 'Castrol' striping across the bonnet and top of the front wings. It looked good and felt crazy fast at the time. He blew it up racing a motorbike down the A40 at Northolt. I had a nice 1600GT Mk1 facelift at the time and wanted something faster so we swapped. I had an engine built for it by Denis Gregory Engineering in Harpenden but it had been thrown together and when subsequently stripped down was minus several of the good bits I'd paid a lot of money for..... It ended up going missing one night from home in Kingston. Probably did me a favour even if it didn't feel like it at the time; it had a suspected blown head gasket and was, even as a 10 year old car, starting to develop some pretty serious holes in the wings and sills. Insurance paid out next to nothing but I eventually saved up enough to replace it with a really nice Cologne kitted mk1 V6 with a Specialised Engines 3.1 in it. Had umpteen Capris since including a mk1 with a 289 Ford V8, a 7000 mile mk2 3 litre Ghia sold far too cheaply, a Cosworth BOA engined mk3 and a rather lively Cosworth YB engined mk3 that I've owned now for nigh on 30 years
Any idea what it’s original ( in the advert ) colour was ?It’s anyone’s guess just how many of these were stolen, never to be seen again.
If we knew the figures, for
1/ written off and broken up
2/ scrapped due to rot
3/ Stolen, never seen again.
I bet that the highest percentage would be Stolen.
