Cheng in the lead: 6.6 baby engined Thunder Road Cob is street legel ladies and gentlemen!

This mega-quick Escort certainly isn't. I heard way passed 8K revs here . . .

Ricketts 2.4 litre Beemer chasing an E.

:cough: Caught this Invicta on the highway to Spa. Easy does it with a 4:01 secs best laptime.

Now this ticks all my boxes, even in this colour. Love mister Neumanns outfit.

This Frogeye looks very inviting as well: roadlegal this would make an ideal summer car.

More . . .

A funny snap of Jerry and me.

Imagine: 3:33 secs in this hack!

Cheng did it a few secs quicker wink

Although Justin Rockett had 6 extra cilinders up front he wasn't that much faster compared to 2006. Cool roadster eh?

Tim Falce - in one piece again - enjoyed his laps to bits.

I think the Escort was running a BDA Albert,03 is a cracking time but do you remember the Purple Anglia raced by Gordon Streeter,he did an 04 a few years back.Do like the Escort though, always been a favorite, along with Capri's.I rate Peters car very highly, excellent power combined with the handling, now far better than last years set-up [only niggle was the turn-in for Blanchimont, split second of a reluctance to turn, aerodynamics perhaps, but if you keep it in,it still goes round really nicely]Last year I rate as one of my most rewarding drives at Spa,it was fun starting from the back!.
Incidently,a mate has an FVA engined Escort for sale, fab build and condition, fully rebuilt engine at Mass and car is race ready. Not cheap, but then the best available never are.

Streeter runs a full steel 1.7 in a light Anglia!

Goes like the clappers and sounds like an 8K revving's going on!

Escorts with Cos power: that's 250 brake + and 800 kgs something Terry?

Whoa - Wonder what one of the Marsh Plant DB4's could do rounds there with a decent driver!!

Can anyone find out what Joe Henderson did round here 2 or 3 years back, wonder if that quick in a TR?

I can find results for 2009, 2008 and 2007, butr I think it must have been 2006 and ideas where these might be found?

One of the Capris did a 3:00 dead, not bad for a fairly std old bus with an Essex.

Cheers Terry, yep found what I wanted - was 2006. Thought Hendo would have broken the 3 mins, but did a 3.03. Odd as his car is SO Fast. I see the Ram has improved a bit since then, but that the Class A Mog of Oli Bryant was easily fastest in 06.

Not bad for some thing with alledgely less than 400bhp. They do normally run on slicks though, so not sure if on those or if Barrys race allowed those. I'd have thought free as long as not slick, but not sure.

You can check the snaps - linky via my PH-profile - and look what tires.

I think a 5 litre Mog runs well over 400 brake though!

Can't see any of Bryants car - though I assume it is as it would run in the Morgan Challenge.

They are (for Class A - of which there are very few ever seem to come out to play) - Morgan Plus 8 – Modified up to maximum capacity 4.6 litre and maximum engine rpm 7500.

They probably do make a tad over 400 as a full fia Griff at 4.8 will make about 420-450 tops.

But the A class Mogas do run free brakes and wopping semi slick Dunlops.

Class A
Dunlop Formula R – Maximum size 16” front 17” rear
Max width front – 245 Max width rear – 275

And weigh maybe 200kg less than Chengs Cob.

Have you seen the Video of Oli at Brands in the A Class Mog - it is a Rocketship. We only allow the Class B Mog into the Thoroughbreds.
