Body panels going back on. Along with a new windscreen
Hopefully heated, as that's one of the good things about an RR in winter. Colour really works well with the leather colour and choice of alloys.
Interesting use of carbs, personally I stay well clear of points, coils, and float chambers whenever possible but I can see the nod to how the original 3.5 would have been.
Thanks for positive comments
Front seats are now in and looking good. As many will know, early 4 doors used the same integrated seats as the 2 door. In fact, they also had the tilt function extant. Pointless but I guess LR only had 1 seat model to use.
2nd photo is out of focus but shows contrasting gear-lever gaiters and charcoal carpet. And the long stick on the R380... which I wanted because it looks right (albeit the throw is shorter due to Slickshift) Cubby box and door cards have been done in matching vinyl for £ reasons
Amazing to think a 5 seater 4 door car was sold with no rear seat belts as standard in 1982. Saying that I can recall my dad buying a brand new Metro prob c 1985 and having to pay to retrofit them. I've done the same but centre rear has to be a lap belt

still to do:
new windscreen and seal
refit lower dash section
test auxiliary dials and replace where needed
fit door tops
fit door cards, window winders etc
decals and coachline
new 235 tyres
road test and MOT
does anyone know, are the headlights the same as a Defender? Am mulling over LED ones (trucklite, JW Speaker etc)

That's looking lovely - I normally cleave to the 'CSK knew best' rule when it comes to mods but, looking at yours, you are getting it so right. Here are a few gratuitous shots of mine, just dropped off for a bit of pre-sale fettling.... [url]

I was going to keep black factory correct but at least 1 sender was knackered. Realised it would burn more in labour chasing down wiring etc and testing than buying new. Annoyingly they don't do the tachometer in black. Still they are Smiths and look retro. Think they were fitted to Cobra as well as RR
