A powder/iris blue Austin A30/35

Done really well with 1275 engine, extra dials, modern sports radiator mesh and a big exhaust - it sounded and went well too thumbup

This was at an excellent proper traditional pub, Crown, Little Missenden, Bucks. (in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, pub may be spoilt a bit next year when they upgrade the external toilets)

Wished I had a camera with me the car outside the pub would have been an excellent shot

I saw that Stag coming off the Tesco roundabout (was the roof off?). Maybe about 3.45pm ish.

real ale pubs and classic cars go hand in hand IMO!

not the correct model, but pictured in a real ale pub car park so it would have looked something like this maybe!?,

yeah it was around that time, the roof was indeed off, you didn't happen to notice if there was a labrador/retriever type dog in the car too?

I just love the way you always have your camera to hand. Good work.
I think that Lamborghini Muira SV belongs to Jamiroquai.

Belongs to another LCUK member, not Jay Kay.

Isn't that an Eclat?
It confused me too

Now you point it out, that rings a vague bell in the back of my mind. I seem to remember reading a feaure about this car. M-reg is very early for an Eclat or and Elite anyway, isn't it?, and IIRC it's a prototype Eclat. I'll dig through some back issues and see what I can find.
I remember the article a bit, when the owners bought it, it had no badges on it and they thought it was an incredibly early Eclat but read up on it and somethign about a dip in the boot lid and a few lotus experts led them to find that it was indeed a IIRC one of a kind car built by lotus in the mid seventies.
We spoke to the lovely couple at Kimbolton who own this car. They told us that they bought it 20 years ago as an unknown Lotus coupe and it was only when they needed a part for it that they discovered how unique it is. It is indeed an Elite Coupe and badged as M50 prototype, built in 1972. It was rushed through to be displayed at a motor show and went on to become the Eclat. It had no chassis or engine plate when bought but now wears chassis no 001 with engine no 004 (apparently the first 3 blew up during development). It was driven by Colin Chapman for the first 3 months of its life and then by Mike Kimberley.

It was subsequently passed on to JPS who had it painted in their black and gold colours, which is why there is a model of a Lotus 72 between the rear seats. It is now back in its original metallic green and has covered 270,000 miles on its original engine! The current owners will be at the Silverstone Classic next weekend with the car in the Club Lotus area and are well worth chatting to. They'll be able to tell you a lot more about this lovely and unique car. smile

This morning I saw a Fraser Nash at the services J10 on the A1 busy refuelling.

Sorry I dont know the model, but it looks similar to C type Jaguar. Was BRG in colour. Awesome. No camera on me either, damn.

Another one-off green classic today. Spied a mid-70s Jaguar XJ Coupe which was very nice in itself, but as it drove past, the rear section was a pick up bed rather than a normal boot. Very quirky, but IMO very cool. I can't find any info on the car online and nothing much about Jaguar Pick Up Trucks anywhere! Location was West Yorkshire if anyone recognises the car thumbup

Driving out of the middle of Edinbourgh this morning there were loads of beautiful classics heading into town down the A8. It looked like a German car club must be doing a tour or something. At least they all had German number plates. Lots of old SLs, Healeys, a couple MGs, a Mk2 and a pair of XKs a 140 and a 150 I think, I didn't get a clear view of the 150 as it was behind the taffic heading in the opposite direction to me.

A great start to the day.
