That is one hell of a story. Massive respect for Roger Burns in seeing the resto through and keeping this unique car on the road - many would have given up on it. bow

How about these 'beauties' from across the pond. Both were one off commissions - I am soooooooooooooooooo glad about that. Some things are not meant to be repeated.

The car may have been made in Europe, but I am informed it was commissioned by an American to his own spec. Car resides in America (thank fcensoredck).

The high roof on this car makes me suspect that it is an ambulance conversion that has been changed back to normal usage.
Probably converted by Binz, they did do some civvy conversions. But certainly most were Hearse and Amblulance conversions.Did spot a W114/5 Merc estate forsale in germany recently.

Now that's nice.

Staying with bahnstormers, a couple of W124 estates were converted to 500E/E500 spec.

And this is rather epic: E73T!! http://www.gdtm.net/pokazuxa/S124-E73T.jpg

I know it has already been mentioned in this thread but here is a picture of the Rover SD1 Estate at the Haynes Museum taken back in 2008.
