Honestly, its better than I could have ever imagined.
We went the whole hog in the end, every panel off and painted inside and out, even the roof came off to be painted. All fittings off, cleaned and restored. New window rubbers too, which were fun to source.
Still a few things to do - the engine bay needs a full steam and detail, and the underside needs a clean and a coat of Ditrinol.

Looks great, and best way to do it with panels off. Also gives you a chance to easily check how everything is underneath too. Have fun with it.
Cheers, Steve

Looks lovely. Mine, recently MOTd, is very much at the bargain-basement/needs-fettling level. Sometimes I think I should do myself a favour and not load myself up with more to do, so sell it, then I see something like this and I think "right, throw money at it"! Fantastic, if you ever consider selling that please get in touch.

Cheers folks.
Fired her up and took the folks out in her for a midday pint, and then lunch after.
Mum enjoyed the extra LSE legroom in the back!
All parked up now, needs taxing on the 1st Jan then she’s on the fleet properly

First post. Previously owned a P38 and been driving a 94 RRC 300TDI for a couple of years, originally from Malaga and completely rustfree. Since many years I've been lusting after a 2 doors. There's something about those proportions I really like. Having been through a couple of restorations in the past, I wanted a rustfree car. Last summer I found one and bought it unseen. I had a local mechanic check it out though. It's a 89 3.5 EFI from the Badajoz area.
The panels on the car are not perfect at all but I hoped for a very solid car underneath. Today I finally started the dismanteling process. The idea is to do a soft restoration.
I took the rear quarter panel off only to discover what appeared to be dust sticking on the inner body. I was tad shocked but that quickly turned into joy. The car is perfect, not a speck of rust. Incredible.
The quarter panel though is in bad shape. Could anybody give an opinion whether it would be possible to straighten it. I could take all the paint off as preparation. Not sure though if it is worth the trouble or if I should replace it.
Thanks for any input.

Morning, i am after some properly beard levels of assistance please? I need to try a new MAF on my 91 V8 RRC. Its the latest in a long line of items to eliminate!
All the replacements i can find dont seem to match the part number on mine, which also seems to fit various Jags.
Can anyone help with what a new replacement part number might be? I can go by linking chassic numbers to parts but was hoping one of you all might know. The OEM parts are eyewateringly expensive so it might be a £60 ebay special as im not sure if its worth buying another 25 year old one to try?
My part number is
Lucas 73242a
Manufactured 06/91
Also has Hitachi stamped on it.
Some lovely looking bits of kit on this thread by the way!

Re the rear arch, my guess would be that depending on where you are based it’s whichever is cheaper, to pay for a repair, fill and paint or to buy a used panel.
The later two doors had a different rear panel than the early ones, which had a gentle curve out. In the UK it’s hard to source later two door panels but where you are you should be able to find one relatively easily?

Not owned a RRC but had enough classics to know that often previous owners bodges cause all sorts of problems. Yours not matching what it should be won't help, so get things back to standard. Sounds like a jaguar part looking like a RRC part. All the replacements i can find dont seem to match the part number on mine, which also seems to fit various Jags.

welcome. it looks great. I would have thought a new panel was more straightforward than trying to get that straightened?
