Sounds a tad disappointing....I've driven a couple of the cars at the Midlands branch, and everything seemed hunky dory to me - the Boxster was superbly prepared.
Can't really comment on your experience, apart from a couple of minor niggles with a wiper blade on the Speedster, I'm really enjoying membership of the London branch...
I accept the cars are not concours examples because of the huge benefit of unlimited mileage CCC offers and maintenance wise,I haven't had an issue. A trip to this year's Le Mans beckons - need to bag a decent car though!

Has anyone seen this month's evo mag - Classic Car Club London's E-Type Roadster is featured in a group test with the Lamborghini, Porsche Carrera 4S, Ferrari etc.., nice to see the E-Type mixing it with the big boys - editorial piece sums up what to expect from CCC membership pretty well....
I've been a member since July last year and haven't had any problems at all. I've heard other members have broken down, but have phoned the club who have made trips out with a replacement vehicle.
I've looked at the alternatives and they all cost about the same but there's not the choice of cars or the 'club' feel which shouldn't be underestimated in my opinion - I guess it depends on how social you want to be.
Took out the new 911 Turbo before Christmas and it's beautiful with under 80,000 original miles. Only problem I had with it was a £60 fine and three points on my licence. Luckily the club saw the funny side.

Although, I certainly haven't got the £15k or so to burn per year!
However, not too sure how flexible they are - they limit you on miles,and somebody I know who paid £30k to be a founder member wasn't allowed to defer his membership even though his wife was having a baby - seems a bit harsh.
Don't know much about Parc Ferme, their choice seems a bit limited - they only have about 10 cars I think and I'm not too sure whether I'd trust my £3k or so with a company with no track record.
I suppose I pay my money and take my choice - I'm with CCC - they seem a totally honest bunch.

Yeah, I met the guy from Parc Ferme at the Goodwood Revival this year. They had a gorgeous Dino 246 on the stand, but the other nine or ten cars in the fleet aren't my cup of tea. I'm a die hard Porsche fan but don't care to drive a 993 Cabriolet and a 90's Mini Cooper, Nissan Figaro and newish Merc CLK just don't rock my world. Good cars in their own right, but not that interesting in my opinion.
I'm taking the 911 Turbo out again in two weeks. A 25 year old car that can mix it with a Vanquish! Simply stunning!

Thanks for the advice, after speaking to P1 it all sounds a little out of my price range and my huband really prefers the more classic cars. I have spoken to Parc Ferme who are sending me their brochure, they have 11 cars including the ferrari you mention and another they have just added. After looking at the Classic Car Club website it seems that the they have a smaller branch in Woking that would be less travel time for us to get to, but their selection doesn't really compare with the choice at the London branch.
Decisions, decisions....I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem if you wanted to visit CCC London to compare.
I think Parc Ferme are a bit more expensive with a Joining Fee of £750.
Classic Car Club's yellow E-Type Roadster is in this months EVO magazine and IMHO sums up membership pretty well.

Just a quick update for you all...... Thanks for all your input. It's been very resourceful.
After much deliberation and after coming clean to my husband about his b'day 'surprise' we decided to join Parc Ferme.
A number of reasons influenced our final descision. Location and the fact Classic Car Clubs branch at Woking didn't really impress my husband with their fleet, the London branch wasn't that easy for us to navigate too. There wasn't another company that offered a Ferrari Dino and DB6 Aston Martin to drive and the quality of all the cars are superb (My husband is a v.fussy bugger!) They have recently added another Ferrari and they seemed a throughly nice enthusiastic bunch of people.
So far I would recommend them, I'll let you know how we get on when really using the cars in earnest through the summer.

The Club's just increased the membership prices,but I think for anybody who's interested and joins before this Friday, the rates are at the 'old' membership prices - seems pretty good value to me.

Glad you're enjoying Classic Car Club down at Woking. Their fleet looks a really interesting selection of cars. I've driven the E-Type down there - what a gorgeous car!

I think the Caterham's used mainly on the track at CCC Track Days.They're great fun, but the insurance can be a bit of a nightmare cost.
I've driven all London's Ferraris and I have to say the best one was the 308.
Easy to drive and a bit of a classic now a lot of people are around who can't remember Tom Selleck in Magnum!!
