Yeah my 1st one was 1969, oyster gold and someone had put a black facelift power bulge bonnet on it

Alfasud 1.3TI 1st new car. Wrote off after two years.

Polo MK2 (breadvan) 1.3CL. Brilliant old school over engineered VW.

Golf MK2 1.3C. Very slow, very basic, very dull.

Panther Lima. Bought it in London, brought it up the road to Scotland and six months later while in a specialist garage getting serviced someone saw it and offered me £1000 more than I paid for it. (The one and only time I made money on a car).

Reliant Scimitar SS1. 1.3. A hoot.

Mazda RX7 mk2.

MKIV Spitfire - first car: big ends went

then a 1977 Honda Civic, - rusted to nothingness

then a 1979 Honda Accord - fell apart as I looked at it

then a Citroen BX with a dicky engine

Dusted off the Spitfire and ran that until my ponytail was long enough and sold it to buy E's.

Started out with my 1960 F-type Victor after I passed my test. Bench seats, 1.5l, 3-speed column change goodness.
Then Fiat 850 coupe.
Not quite sure of the order of the rest but included Capri 1.6L, Humber Sceptre, Jaguar XJC, Rover P6 3.5 and Lotus Elite II. There may've been others - it was a long time ago.

Not included company cars which took over mid-80's ish

I'll see if I can dig any out. Mine was a 4 door HC. It started life gold but was a rather unpleasant st brown colour by the time I got my hands on it and T-cut was unable to restore if to its former "glory" ...

I seem to remember it used to get through water pumps quite often (think I fitted 3) but there was a scrapyard not far from me so used to be able to pick them up for about a fiver a pop.

Nothing very interesting but I did like my Capri's, the Audi was very nice a quite rare in those days, the Daimler was great when it went (which wasn't often) and cost a fortune to run and the Metro was terribly dull but lasted 5 years without ever letting me down.

A somewhat modified Triumph Herald - uprated from the standard 1147cc engine to a very highly tuned 1296. Didn't idle well, had no power below 3000rpm but made about 125bhp @7,500 rpm. Surprised quite a few people with that car

Upgraded from that to a Triumph GT6, then Daimler SP250, and then to a Sunbeam Tiger. The Tiger is still one of the most amusing cars I've ever had (especially my Dad's remark when I bought it: "You'll kill yourself in that!").

And then the 80s ended, the 90s started, and things got even more entertaining
