Some of the prices the Classic Car dealers were asking was TBH taking the p*ss, I guess some mugs get taken in by the 'hype'?
Great show as always tho...
They do vary quite a bit though, walking round for the last time this afternoon I noticed a few of the Jags had sold, including a green Mk2 3.4 for £25k and a pale yellow XJC for £32k, assuming of course the asking prices were what was actually paid. I bought another Jag book (oops) and had a ride in the Sporting Bears Mk2 Jag 3.4 which the owner had beathed on slightly, it certainly didn't hang about when we were following the E-Type and cornered with barely a hint of roll...Great show as always tho...

Any delightful FIATs Nij ?
The NEC is a great show and one that my mates and I wouldn’t miss. As a previous poster mentioned there did appear to be less Italian cars than in previous years.
I’ve also uploaded a further image of the Avocado Green Rover SD1, which to me was the car of the show. For an SD1 of this era it got me thinking as to whether this Green or Tumeric Yellow is the best colour.
Car of the show for me, completely rebuilt at home, even resprayed in the back garden!
Put this on standard wheels and I’d happily live with it
Colour scheme, finish, just a lovely, lovely bundle of fun.
So many terrific Landies at the show it was difficult to pick a favourite, this just beat one of the lovely 3 door Discos.

I've been threatening a Frogeye for years now, it would just have to be that colour though-lovely! Those Fly Dinos were lovely too.
Oh and the bloody 6R4 stand!!! There was a bearded chap who talked us through some history-this guy needs to write the 6R4 book! I think he's friends with the Autoplas car owner and what a great guy.
I really wish we'd made a weekend of it now, so much more to see than we did in seven hours.

I did three days and still missed bits of it!
My best mate who has now lined in California for past 20 years, went to SEMA in Vegas last weekend, and did 3 days there, walked about 25 mikes in 3 days walking around it, and reckoned he didn't even see half of it, its so big.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
