I remember sitting alongside my dad when he had a test drive in a black one years back. I so wanted him to buy it, but he ended up in a 2.9 XR4x4 instead. However I can't remember the reason that he gave for not going for it though. On my fortieth birthday, my other half hired a three litre Austin Healey for me... I'd always fancied one, but much as I enjoyed the day, I no longer wanted one when it came time to give it back.
Ten years later, she got me a Morgan M3W for the day, giving that back was like having an arm removed...best driving fun I've ever had.

I'm a little young compared to their usual fans (born in the 80s when these were already 'old' cars) ... but a Jaguar E-type FHC S1 would be pretty much my ideal classic. I've lusted after them since I was a child, but unlikely to ever have the sort of disposable cash to drop on something like that.
If I ever got one, I would drive it enthusiastically at every opportunity. Bugger keeping it locked away in a heated garage - cars are for driving!![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Interesting question,
I am very lucky that i have a collection of a fair few cars, some i have owned for 24 years, i do feel very fortunate to have purchased them before the rise.
That said i would like

S:1 E-Type
914 Porsche
Mercedes 230SL
Ferrari 355 Spyder
