Very nice, and very rare to have the steelies on it.

Quick nerd point - the decals on the back are the smaller ones from the later XR3i - I'd change that for the older bigger ones if I were you, but that's only because it's a part of the car I really like.

Or are they the rare steel standard wheel, with plastic trim?
They are indeed the wheel trims
That is amazingly rare,in 1985 I ordered a new XR3i as a company car. I wanted the steels as they were 1/2 an inch wider (seemed crucial at the time!) The leasing company told me it would have to be a special order and would cost more than having one with alloys, needless to say my boss wasn't having any of that and a plain white one with sunroof and alloys but no c/locking or electric windows was delivered. I hope your's wasn't treated as appallingly as mine was for the first year of it's life.

One more thing: change than awful modern font rear number plate ... shocking thing. You can get the old ones - probably some awful pressed steel affair circa 1984/5!

Lovely example though.

These actions also hide the fact it's likely had a rear-ender at some point wink

Where on earth did you find a survivor like that? It's stunning, that's for sure.
